This page last updated June 6, 2004. Wantlists are updated as I get stuff in, usually a few times a week.
I should preface this section by saying that I am not terribly interested in buying cards at this time. I have too many cards, not enough money, and I'm somewhat more interested in schedules and beer stuff at the moment anyway.
A note about trading cards through the mail: If you merely put a bunch of cards in an 800-count box, you should expect that the post office is going to give the box a good whack along the way and ruin the cards. If it's worth the time, effort, and expense of making a trade, it's worth making sure that the cards get there in good shape. I usually double-box the cards I send, although I may use toploads and a padded mailer for smaller groups. I ask that my traders use similar care in shipping. This is somewhat less important, however, if the cards are in fair-to-good condition already. :^)
I need to update my wantlists. When this will happen is hard to say. :^) I am in the process of reinventing my collection. What I am doing is saving one card per player. I have broken partial and complete sets 1957-86, including some Fleer and Donruss. I will be breaking partial and complete sets from all companies from 1987 to the present as I find time. Once I'm done, most of what I'll need will be obscure players from the 1950s and 1960s, and early Bowmans and pre-WWII cards. I need to go through my collection with my alphabetical checklist to find out who all the players I'm missing are. I've done A through E and that took a long time.
Since they don't fit in the nine-pocket pages, and since I kinda like 'em, I'm going to continue to collect Topps baseball sets 1952-56 and Bowman baseball sets 1953-55. I have "have" lists here. There are also a couple of recent sets listed.
Some other things that I know I'm going to need:
I am taking a particular interest in the uniforms of decades gone by when selecting cards for my new collection. I have tended to favor cards of players in Seattle Pilots uniforms, for example. Since 1957 is the only year that Topps issued 2.5" by 3.5" cards of players in New York Giants or Brooklyn Dodgers uniforms, I would like to get most of them.
I have long been interested in sets featuring older players. I am breaking a number of these up, including both Ted Williams sets, some Swell and Pacific sets, and the 2002 Fleer Greats of the Game set. I am interested in cards from sets that I don't have, including many by Renata Galasso, Larry Fritsch, and TCMA. Please let me know what you have.
I collect New York Giants football cards from all years. I now have complete Topps and Philadelphia team sets from 1956-90, and I'm closing in on most of the more recent years. My main priority is the other older sets 1935-62. I do collect all Giants cards including oddball and insert, although I may rethink this policy. If someone were to offer me some nice 1960s baseball stars for my Giants inserts, that might tip the scales. After putting in many hours, I now have an extensive wantlist, with links at the top and bottom of this page.
I collect all Tom Seaver cards. I have all of his regular issue cards, but I need many oddball cards. I may get a list up here at some point. I would say that my top current want is an original Topps card of Jackie Robinson.
I have started Topps and Bowman football sets from 1955-60 and now have a decent start on several of those.
I have a trader in Ontario who is looking for Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, and Raptors, especially oddball and insert, current material, rookies, and 1970s cards. If you have any nice Toronto material, please let me know what you need for it.
Now that you know what I want, I suppose you want to know what I have to offer. I currently have a selection of cards from most years 1958-present. I generally don't collect inserts, so when I pull those, they are available for trade. I do have some game used and autographed inserts that I don't really care much about.
A note to international collectors: I regret that due to the expense involved in trading overseas, I cannot trade cards for cards outside the United States or Canada, unless you have something really special (Topps Venezuela qualifies).
