Alas -- It’s Not Easy Being Green! This was
made the summer of 2002. Again Ryan has
put a picture to grid for me that I found on
the internet. Mr. Frog is made up of all squares
and half squares with different shades of blue
and green. He sports appliquéd white & black
jean eyes. On his tongue is a purchased delightful
bubble bee. On this piece I tried my hand at free
motion quilting and put my name, date, and the
word ‘ribit’. These rag quilts will wear like iron and
are great for the car and the beach. He will find
a home downstate with Scott and Mande’s boys..
Another blue-jean rag quilt made of
blue’s, red’s, and black’s. It is made of
squares and half squares. I found the
picture of a Scottie dog on the internet
and Ryan put the picture to a grid so
that I could construct it. This one is
a true rag quilt and will fray more with
age. Because of the weight of the fabric
it does not have batting or backing. Another
quilt that became a *troll*.
– completed 2003
This one is done with fabrics from Moda…
Half of the quilt is done with preprinted
blocks and the others are log cabin blocks.
This would make a nice lodge quilt.
This is the first quilt that I did on my own at
home., It’s called Hearts and Gizzards.
I started this November of 2002. I machine
pieced all the squares and Regina Berg uses
her long arm quilting machine to finish them.
If I was to quilt these by hand I believe that it
would take me over a year to finish each quilt.
