In Loving Memory of
Laci Kristine Althiser
September 21, 1984 - January 9, 2002

Laci August 2001 at age 16.

She flew from earth on angel's wings,
But left her songs on heart strings,
In memories both far and near,
That many souls will stop to hear.

She went away but left her worth,
Of footsteps tread upon the earth,
So that those who cross her path,
Hear echoes of a young girl's laugh.

She skipped along a river's edge,
And hid behind a garden's hedge,
I saw her mark upon a tree,
And underneath a bandaged knee.

She played in grasses of the field,
Where happiness would be the yield,
She left behind a tea cup's fill,
Of daisies on the window sill.

She went to bed with peace of mind,
With good-night kisses pure and kind,
Before the hour of morning dew,
She left behind a prayer or two.

She left the strength of mighty oak,
Some childhood thoughts she never spoke,
A million kisses to be kissed,
A sunshine's ray that will be missed.

For what was lost so much was gained,
More joy she brought than grief or pain,
She left within each trembling heart,
A love that will never depart.

The greatest gift she gave the world,
Was when her hands unfurled,
Her fingertips on life were such,
They left their mark on all she touched.

These are three beautiful and loving gifts for Angel Laci from my dear friend, Carol, mom to Angel Michael.

Our Christmas Angels

Laci with her 3 brothers at age two and half.

Sending love and hugs to Angel Laci and her family.
Judi, Mom to Angel Andrew.

LACI WAS A VERY UNIQUE GIRL WITH LOTS OF PERSONALITY.
SHE WROTE LOTS OF POETRY AND WAS ALWAYS IN TUNE
WITH OTHERS AND THEIR FEELINGS.
SHE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR
HER QUICK WIT AND FUN LOVING PERSONALITY.
WHEN EVER SHE WALKED INTO
A ROOM THE WHOLE ROOM WOULD COME ALIVE
AND DANCE AROUND HER.
SHE WAS TRUELY A RAY OF SUNSHINE.

You are the winds that blow,
You are the diamonds in the snow,
You are the sun that melts my pain,
You are the gently autumns rain.
You are the graceful bird in flight,
You are the stars that shine at night,
You were the heartbeat of my life,
I wish you weren't gone.but here instead.
We have you as an angel now.
Blessed by the peace you bring.
And.although I cannot see you.
I can feel the brush of your wings.
You bring me light in darkness
And calmness in times of fear.
And hope lives in the knowing
That you are always near.

Laci with her older brother Anthony. When they got older,
they really enjoyed "hanging out" together.

Laci holding baby Isaac at age 14.

Memories Of You

I remember everything about you,
your voice, you smile, your touch,
the way you walked, the way you talked,
the way you looked at me, meant so much.

I remember all the words you said to me,
some funny, some kind, some wise,
all of the things you did for me,
I see now with different eyes.

I remember every moment we shared,
seems like only yesterday,
or maybe it was eons ago,
It's really hard to say.

You are gone from me now,
but one they can't take away,
your memory resides inside my heart,
and lights up my darkest days...

Laci at the prom with her friend Patrick, and after prom 2001

WE DO NOT NEED A SPECIAL DAY

We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds.
The days we do not think of you
Are very hard to find.

Each morning when we awake,
We know that you are gone.
And no one knows the heart ache
As we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know.

Our thoughts are always with you,
Your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly;
In death we love you still.

There will always be a heartache,
And often a silent tear.
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase,
And heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again.

We hold you close within our hearts;
And there you will remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

Our family chain is broken now,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Laci with best friend Tonya December 2001 at age 17

I'm thinking of those golden days,
When you still walked by me...
And shared yet still this life on Earth
Which was not long to be.
The flowers upon this lonely world
Were still fragrant in the light...
The sun still shone, the stars still glowed
And peaceful was each night.
And still between the darkness
And the dawn of each new day
There is still that moment when
The sorrow's held at bay.
And for a single moment,
I feel you walk with me
Sharing still my dreams on Earth
Where always you will be.

Laci with her friends Kayla and Miranda, June 5, 2001.
The poem below was written by Miranda for Laci.

Laci can you hear me?

Laci can you hear me?
Can you hear my cries for you?
Can you feel the pain that I am feeling?
The pain I feel for you.
Can you see the tears in my eyes?
The tears I cry for you.
The tears that splash to the ground.
Filled with love and memories of you.
The tears fall next to your grave.
And seep into the ground.
Can you see it Laci?
Can you hear it all?
Can you hear your friends cry out?
“Laci, Why you Laci.”
Did you see us in the church?
As they wheeled your casket in.
And placed it right in front of us.
Did you see the flowers we threw?
Upon your casket as they lowered it into the ground.
They were beautiful weren’t they?
All fresh and blue for you.
Did you see it Laci?
Please give me a sign.
Let me know you’ve seen it all.
As we lay here and cry.
We miss you so, Laci.
Just like you miss us too.
Laci did you feel any pain?
What’s it like in heaven?
I know your there and listening.
What’s it like to have wings?
To fly back to our hearts.
Do you like it?
Are you happy?
Please tell me yes.
That’s what I want to hear.
That’s what we all want to hear.
Laci did you hear me?
Pray for you last night.
You’re in my dreams and heart at night
While I sleep I know everything’s all right
Laci did you see me?
Come to your grave today.
And lay that little rose.
A top your grave, I did.
Laci did you see it?
It’s beautiful, you think?
It’s your favorite color.
I knew you’d like it too.
Laci did you read your poem?
We thought you’d like it there.
That way you can read it everyday.
And think of us as you do.
And when we go.
We read it too.
It reminds us all of you.
Laci are you watching?
Watching me right now.
Cause I think I can feel your eyes.
Watching me like you always did.
Guiding me through the dark.
Laci can you see in the dark?
You must cause you’ve guided me right through.
You’ve guided us all right through.
You were good at that you know.
Laci were you crying?
The day we cried for you.
The day was cold and rainy.
The rain was tears from you.
You always told us not to cry.
But if you would have seen.
We cried and cried and cried for you.
The way you never would.
Did you wrap your arms around us?
To comfort us from all our fears.
And wipe away our tears.
Oh, and Laci one more thing to say.
Laci did you hear me?
Hear me say, “I love you”
You must have heard me.
Cause while I stand here by your grave.
The wind blows through the trees.
And in the wind I hear a voice.
It calls out to me.
“Randy, I love you too.”
My eyes filled with tears.
Laci did you see that tear.
Fall upon the ground.
That tears for you.
I hope you know.
And thanks for loving me too.

Jesus Wept

Dear Lisa, this is a poem that my ANGEL Lee wrote, it is very special to me,
and because your ANGEL is special, I would love to share it with you.

Dear Lisa and ANGEL Laci

CORE

Softness of the skin
Sweetness in the smell
Nectar of the fruit
Tender in the heart
Dancing in the eyes
Uplifting in the smile
Tickle of the touch
Joining in the love

Truth in the speech
Love in the laughter
Primal in the scream
Soft in the whisper
Quick in the mind
Fair in the sentence
Brave in the confrontation
Joining in the love

Graceful in the sleep
Careful in the search
Deep in the sorrow
Strength in the sickness
Giving of thy self
Rich in the health
Kind in the giving
Joining in the love
