Ascension
And if I go while you're still here,
Know that I live on, vibrating to a different measure.
Behind a thin veil, you cannot see through.
You will not see me, so you must have faith.
I wait for the time, when we can soar together again
both aware of each other.
Until then live your life to the fullest,
And when you need me...
Just whisper my name in your heart,
and I will be there.

In honor of Christopher... whisper his name...
I love him and miss him so.

I lost my 24 year old son Christopher Daniel Grider on Nov 10, 2002 in a motorcycle accident. I am totally broken. He was so much more than just my son. We had reached such a special level in our relationship. He was my son, protector, computer advisor, roommate, comedian, so many it is hard to list.

Ode to Christopher
Thank you for compliments of Christopher,
my son. I know him truly of the best!
Of course I'm partial to my son, less so
the rest. Everyone he met, he so touched
through winning ways, they loved him instantly.
But Racquetball he played most avidly,
ranked fifth in age group and division, as
purest athlete, par excellence. As grief
anniversary's mark one approaches,
I do so miss him, more than I can bear;
finding harder, as numbing days go by,
my composure to retain. I won't hold
back my tears, and donąt refrain from talking
of my son; yet need try and gain control
of dire thoughts, enabling me to go on
living. Folks as a whole can't understand.
I lost him through the biker's doom. Though you've
not asked, I thought you might be wondering.
Don't try go on and on about him, as
I've found most people deem uncomfortable
the mentioning of his name, though speak of him
I must; for so much yearning love I feel
for him, and not to speak of him would make
me feel that I've denied him of his being.
My son he's now and will forever be;
because this mother's love shall never end.

Christopher was an avid racquetball player. He won so many tournaments he was 5th in the nation in his age group.

Since the time we lost him he has given us so many signs..He had a tattoo of a yin-yang, (Chinese symbol) on his arm . That and ladybugs are so much him.

This special image is a gift for Christopher from my dear friend Joyce.

We Do Not Need A Special Day
We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds
The days we do not think of you
Are very hard to find
Each morning when we awake
We know that you are gone
And no one knows the heartache
As we try to carry on
Our hearts still ache with sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know
Our thoughts are always with you
Your place no one can fill
In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
There will always be a heartache
And often a silent tear
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here
If tears could build a staircase
And heartaches make a lane
We'd walk the path to Heaven
And bring you home again
We hold you close, within our hearts
And there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again
Our family chain is broken now
An nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

Take To A Star
I look to the stars tonight
There I saw your smile...
your face was written among
all the stars in the sky!!
So when I feel alone, I will
look for your smile among the stars. ~ Author unknown

Dear Janet
Reading through Christopher's site again, the bond you had with him reminds me so very much of the way my Son Lee and I were.
That bond will never be broken, Janet.
UNTIL WE MEET OUR SONS AGAIN
GOD BLESS
