~*~Antonio Talks to Sonya DeSantos~*~
Antonio is talking on the pay phone at the Diner when Sonya shows up, she sees Javiar Perez and takes off before he can see her. Antonio sees her and runs after her. Javiar tries to cause trouble and he finally leaves. Sonya comes back in after she sees that Javiar has left. Antonio is talking to Carlotta when he sees Sonya come through the door. He walks over to her.
Antonio: "Sonya? You came back, thank you."
Sonya: "Don't thank me. This is the last place I wanna be seen. When you said you'd come to my house it..."
Antonio: "I don't want to bother you but I need your help."
Sonya: (Coldly) "I can't help you."
Antonio: "Can't or won't?"
Sonya: "What's the difference?"
Antonio: "It makes a big difference to me. It makes a difference between me being labeled a murderer or me getting my name back. You've got the power."
Sonya: "I'm sorry Antonio okay? It's too much to ask."
She tries to leave but Antonio grabs her arm.
Antonio: "You came this far, at least hear me out. Five minutes, is that asking too much?"
They stare at each other.
They are now sitting down at a booth.
Sonya: "Look, I wasn't alone in the pool hall that night. If my husband out...look, I kicked the drugs alright? I dumped that creep I was hanging out with, things are going so good between Jimmy and Me. Don't ask me to throw it away."
Antonio: (Angry whisper) "I threw away six years of my life. Six years in prison for murder when it was really self defense."
Sonya: (Smiling) "Well, you're out now, you bought this place..."
Antonio: "I'm on parole. I look sideways at a cop and I go straight back to jail. And the worst thing is that I have it hanging over my head for the rest of my life. I'm Antonio Vega, convicted murderer and ex con. I want my name back. You can give it to me."
Sonya: (Shakes her head and says softly) "I'm sorry Antonio, I can't do it."
Antonio: (Angry) "Fine, then give me the name of the man that was with you that night, maybe he saw the..."
Sonya: "No, no, no! He'll kill me."
Sonya looks over at the bar stool where Javiar had been sitting when she first walked in. Antonio turns around to see what she is looking at and turns back around to look at her.
Antonio: "The first time you walked in, he was here wasn't he?"
Sonya: (Tries to get up but Antonio has hold of her hand) "Let me go."
Antonio: "You dont' have to say anything I just know. That night at the pool hall, that guy that you were with, it was Javiar Perez wasn't it?"
She gives him a look that tells him that it was. They stare at each other.
