HOT GOSSIP
bio
Sexy dance troupe Hot Gossip,  infamous for their controversial TV routines,  are about to ´expose´  their voices too !! Next month they release their first single.  It´s been masterminded by Richard Burgess - currently the lucky companion of gorgeous Not The Nine O´Clock News star Pamela Stephenson - and John Walters,  fellow member of the  ´bizarre´  futuristic rock groupe Landscape.  Richard and John flew to sunny Los Angeles for the recording,  adding all manner of weird and wonderful instruments and voices back here in Britain.   Hot Gossip actually do sing !!  -  and they´re good at it too !!  -  rock classics like ´Hit The Road Jack´ ,  a new version of a song by wild chart-toppers Adam & The Ants and one from gorgeous Sting ofThe Police.  It´s a strange exciting album and it´s sure to mean that we´ll be seeing even more  -  if that´s possible  -  of the saucy Hot Gossips
the prince of pop - THE FACE magazine / sep 1981
Hot Gossip were a British dance troupe created for the TV series The Kenny Everett Video Show, which aired on ITV in the late 1970s. It was created and choreographed by Arlene Phillips. The dance routines, moves, gestures and costumes used by the troupe were considered very sexually suggestive and risqué, especially considering the early evening times lot that the Video Show was broadcast in.
Hot Gossip also made a couple of pop records, featuring Sarah Brightman on lead vocal. They scored a hit with I Lost My Heart To a Starship Trooper, a lightweight disco track that cashed in on the media hype surrounding the original Star Wars film. They went on to cut an album in the early 1980s, Geisha Boys and Temple Girls, produced by Human League main man Phil Oakey. The album was a commercial failure and sank without trace.
At Blitz itself, there was a group of experimental dancers know as Shock, and Kenny Everett's dancers, Hot Gossips used to perform a much ruder act than they were ever allowed to do on television.
