She was born 03 Jun 1808 in VA, and died 09 Sep 1883 in Salem, Lee Co, AL17.
Notes for ROBERT A. CROWDER:
Records found show a Robert A CROWDER married to Phoebe Moody, 1815. They have a son, Henry Moody Crowder. Henry and his wife Ann Pain Preston, are shown in census records living next to and near the Crowder daughters and their families. Robert A. Crowder is the husband of Elanor and father of Janthy, Lillie and Mary Frances Crowder. Robert was married first to Phoebe and 2nd to Eelanor.
Henry and his wife Ann had a son John Calvin Giles Crowder. Born 1853 in AL. Married, 1887, James Lillian Zeller, b 1861. John and Lillian had a daughter Annie Preston Crowder, born in Opelika, AL, who was a member of DAR. DAR ID # 80230.
Her ancestor was William MOODY, of VA. Father of Phoebe MOODY.
William MOODY served, 1776, in Capt. John Steed's Company, Col. John Nevill's 3rd and 4th Virginia regiments. He was born and died in VA.

Robert Armistead Crowder was the son of Godfrey Crowder of the plantation, Fairview, in Clarksville, Meckenburg County, Virginia. His date of birth was around 1792 or 93 and he died after 1831. He married 25 December 1815 Phoebe Moody, born 1 February 1795, died 1 November 1821, married second Elner Robertson, 20 July 1826. ( Note: In Godfrey Crowder's Will, he leaves his land:"The remaining fourth part I wish divided into five equal parts, one of which I desire to be equally divided betwen the two yogest daughters of John Hollaway of Person County, North Carolina by my daughter Frankey Holloway. The other portion of that share, which accrued to Henry, Giles, Mary and John Crowder, children of Robert A. Crowder from the estate of their deceased uncle Henry Moody and which is in the hands of Robert A. Crowder as their guardian....."
...."So far as shall be necessary to discharge said Legacies with the accuring interest and the balance if any I give to be equally divided between the said Henry, Giles, Mary and John Crowder, children of my son Robert A. Crowder by his first wife."

"Nathan Aldridge died May 6, 1865 - 2nd wife Russell County, AL - married 2nd July 30, 1856 - Mrs. Eleanor Jane Crowder, widow of Robert Crowder of Milton, Caswell County, NC. She was born June 3, 1808 and died Sept. 9, 1883 in Salem, AL.
Paper found in Lewis Family Bible, had a braid of hair sewn on in blue thread. It read, Grandmother Aldridge hair. Died Sept 10, 1883
It is known Eleanor's daughter Janthy, married, 2nd, John F. Lewis, the family to whom the Bible belonged.
In the 1860 Russell Co, AL, Census, Nathan is found on Page 1054- Beat 11 - Salem Town. #535 - Farmer - with a value of Real Estate of $1,800 and Value of Personal Estate of $55,000.00 He is shown as being born in GA 1791 and age 69 at time of the census. - Living with him is E. J. (Eleanor) age 50, born 1810, VA and a 3 year old female, born 1857, GA listed only as M. W. Aldridge. It is possible this is their child. Eleanor would have been 47 years of age when she was born. In the 1870 census, Eleanor is living with her daughter Janthy and 2nd husband John F. Lewis. The child would have been 13 at this time, but she is not shown in the household. It is unknown who she was or what happened to her.

Wright's Mill was located 5 miles south of Auburn. John F. Lewis and Charles Nelms got 1/2 interest in Wright's Mill and timber cutting rights on Sec 19, 20, and 21 for $5,000.00.
The mill was run for a period of time as Lewis and Wright.

It is not know at this time all of the connections with these people. It is known, Charles Nelms, was part owner of Wrights Mill with Janthy and John Lewis.
It is also know that Janthy's half brother, Henry Moody Crowder was married to Ann Payne Preston.
From the Records above, I know a Preston married into the Nelms family.
