As most of you know we have an airplane…a floatplane to be exact. It is just right that most of this little room, Chuck’s room, should be occupied by pictures and stories about his passion. (That is other than me of course) Our plane was on amphibious floats which simply put means that it has retractable wheels that enable us to land on the water or on a hard runway. We “puddle jumped” in the summer from lake to lake, and just sight see in the winter. It was quite exciting to just be able to hop in and go to breakfast, lunch, or just a swim in another lake. Chuck has even flown another little plane to Alaska for someone that wanted his delivered up there. What an adventure that was! He called me every night so I could track his progress on a map and post a daily e-mail to friends and family relaying his adventure. What we own is a 1954 PA 18 Super Cub. It has a 160 HP Lycoming engine and we cruse at about 90 MPH. |
