[person 2] oh are they? <yelp> punks STILL dead and has been since like early 80s. its funny how bands like the cramps and misfits are still touring. and its funny how these "punk" bands swipe yur money so u can fit in with the image while playing the same 3 chords over and over and talking about "the system" .. hmm if there was anarchy there'd be no expensive equipment for them and no precious organized venues to go to. think about that and write a bit more inteligent response next time :) before u go judging .. OR BE JUDGED!>>

[CivilDiS33] well. i don't want to be over critical, and i don't care to debase or discredit yr opinions. those are your opinions and yr more than welcome to them. but i have to say that one person's idea of punk rock can be wildly different, and just as credible as the next's. i don't have a whole lot of faith in "the scene" or "the kids". as far as i'm concerned these are both things that have failed me time and time again. but what i do put faith in is myself, and until i found punk rock (whether it's dead or not!) i never realized that i was worth something. i saw a window to a better place, a more meaningful existence. these "visions" are very important to me, and for someone to come along and tell me that that is all wrong because "punk is dead" and because of bullshit corporate franchises ("its funny how bands like the cramps and misfits are still touring. and its funny how these "punk" bands swipe yur money so u can fit in with the image while playing the same 3 chords over and over and talking about 'the system' " your words) that meant something to someone at some time... i find that pretty insulting.

punk to me is not an arm of a certain type of music, but the other way around: the music is the manifest force of the maimed hopes and dreams of the people who make it. if you bang a stick against a car hood and call it punk, who am i to disagree? if you put out a spoken word tape, and call it punk, who is ANYONE who would stand under the banner of punk and say otherwise?

if we say punk is alive, who are you to disagree? why do you feel that you have to take away the one thing that keeps us going, that makes sense? there is more to punk than the misfits the cramps epitaph records and flipside magazine. if you wish to turn your head from that fact, then please turn it from us too. We don't need your advice.

again, only stating an opinion, not issuing an insult,

Dmitri
