I adopted Charlie from the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington, NY, January 3, 1993 when he was just about 8 weeks old! My sister and I went to the Animal League on a whim, and looked around at all the dogs in the pens. We wanted to bring each and every one of them home, but knew that our mom wouldn't be too happy with one dog - much less 3, or 4, or 5. (Nope, we didn't tell her we were going!)

After looking around at the dogs, we went into the puppy and kitten room and found that most had been adopted already, but in one cage, we saw this cute little guy shivering and hiding in the back of the cage. We asked someone to take him out and he was so scared!! Welp, that did it for me... he was the cutest, littlest thing I had ever seen - and he had me!

After sitting with him for a few minutes, we went in to do the adaption paperwork. This took a while since the place was busy. Part of the paperwork had a section asking about our residence. One thing they wanted to know... do we have a fenced yard. Uh oh! I live in a co-op. Can't do anything but wait it out and hopefully no one will be the wiser.

So... 10 1/2 years later, he's still with us. He's a fun dog who's always there to great us when we get home and beg at the dinner table! lol I've been so grateful to have him with us and hope it lasts a lot longer!! Enjoy his pictures!

After a bath, Charlie runs around like a lunatic!!

He really hates getting baths.... Obvious, isn't it?!
