Rose of Versailles is an excellent anime/manga by Ikeda Ryoko which was broadcasted in many many countries. I was deeply touched by Oscar, the main character, who would rather give up her rank, her title and the wealth she would inherit from her father to be among the people -- and to save the dying France.
Vive La France!"--- Was her last sentence before she closed her beautiful eyes and joined Andre in heaven!
