Excellent tire for combination on/off road driving. The noise level is high but not bad considering the tires off road capabilities. Treadwear is phenomenal. Installed at 38k when factory tires were at wear indicators. Have more than 92k on vehicle now and still 45-50% treadlife remaining. Going to try Kumho Ecsta STXs for my onroad driving (time to get back to quieter road manners) and keep these babies for my offroad ventures. |

Best tires I ever bought. Definitely well worth the money. I was worried about treadwear, but 10,000 miles later, they look new. I had my first snow storm the other day and I was passing 4wd, especially up hills. I could harldy tell that there was snow on the roads. |

I just rotated my tires today, with 6,000 miles of wear on them after the rotation, they got noticebly louder. the tires wear well but once you get a few thousand miles on them they begind to howl. overall i would buy this tire again, i dont need the grip of a swamper or the sound, but i believe this is as close as you will get. also this is the tire that they are putting on the new Rubicon and the 2002 Hummer 1s. I have a landrunner so i believed these would give it that added look of the hummer. on road these tires are good, however since they are a 3 ply tire they are a bit on the stiff side. check out my website and email me with input www.canito.freeservers.com |

I have had
these on my Jeep alot offroad and they make driving much easier the jeep
goes where ever I point it with very little effort. I had Bfg Mud tires
and it seemed I would have to give it more gas to go through the trails
then I do with the MTRs. What can I say they are awsome. |

These tires are
great for off road, but the tire wear dissapointed me. I only got about
30,000 miles out of them in about 15 months. These tires are great in
sand, mud, and rocks. |

These tires go
anywhere. They turn really good in the mud. Traction is not a problem.
They climb steep rock slopes very well. The on road handling is the best
for a mud tire, and I have drove many different types of mud tires. I
have 10,000 miles on the tires and there is still almost 75% tread left.
I would recommend this tire to any weekend off road enthusiast. |

I drive mostly
on twisty mountain roads, at around 50mph. These tires get a heavy on-road
workout, and then are taken off-road and are used rock-crawling my full-size
truck... I''''''''m not exactly nice to them. Near flawless performance.
The ride is very smooth, but not too soft. The treadwear is looking to
go 20K+, which is impressive for an aggressive mud tire ran on a daily-driven
full-size 4x4 (5000+lb truck). Due to the type of suspension, they need
rotation every 3000 miles, but they keep wearing evenly, so I''''m happy.
They aren''''t as quiet as an AT, but it''''s easy to talk over them at
highway speeds, so they aren''''t too loud. Wet traction is amazing for
mud tire. We get LOTS of rain, and they perform very well. Mud traction
is as good as an SSR, if not better. The dry traction is surprisingly
good. Fresh snow and hard-pack it cruises through without a problem,
getting more traction than I would have thought possible. Haven''''t had
them on large sheets of ice, but on twisty roads with icy patches, they
behave predictably, and you know when they are about to start slipping,
and they slip slowly. Very impressive tire. The only downside is the
width and soft tread compound means 20K or so treadlife, and also that
you lose a touch of mileage when going to them. I''''ll probably start
swapping between these and an All-Terrain (BFG KOs), because the extra
cost of the tires will pay for themselves with the extra treadlife (25
mile each-way commutes are hard on mud tires). |

Excellent tire

little lacking on sandy roads and gravel pits. Great in snow and mud,
horrible on ice. |

I run a set of
305/70R16 MT/R'''s on my 2001 Silverado Z-71 Extended Cab. I replaced
the OE tires because they were nowhere near aggressive enough. I managed
to squeeze these tires on to the stock 7" wide rim (suggested rim
width: 8 - 9.5"). I have had no problems. These tires are
incredibly capable off road! They dig into the mud very well and get
through just about anything. The sidewall tread is surprisingly
effective - in deep mud, it helps push the tire forward instead of just
digging a rut. Also, the lugs are very sharply edged and aggressive,
while spaced evenly enough that they clear out very well (no packing).
But as much as I love to off road, this truck is also my daily driver. I
have put more miles on highways than I have off road. They are wonderful
on dry pavement, wet pavement, and yes - even snow and ice. I never
would have thought a mud terrain could be this effective in the snow,
but after a few trips to the U.P. of Michigan in mid winter, I found
myself driving in 2 wheel drive just because I could :) Also, if you
look at the lugs, you see they start and a sharp point, and get wider as
you go along the tire, then narrow again - unlike many mud terrains that
have flat lug edges. This means the lugs roll onto the pavement rather
than slapping it as the tire is going down the highway. In other words,
the road noise is reduced to a higher pitched noise (almost like wind
noise) rather than a snappy/growling sound. Makes long trips much more
comfortable!! I am very impressed by these tires and would recommend
them any anyone interested in some great off roading while keeping a
decent ride on the pavement. And at the price of a BFG All-terrain, why
wouldn't you go all the way and get a mud tire? Thanks, Goodyear!! Craig

For an agressive tread it is surprisingly quite.Wet traction is also impressive. The tire has a soft compound, so high milage is not a possibility, probably 30-35000 miles. Nice ride and reasonable noice level. Best agressive tire i''ve owned, I would deffiniely but it agian. |

Great
hiway tire for an aggessive tread. Low noise. Some vibration at high
speeds (>75 mph). Sidewall maybe not as tough as it looks - one
puncture on first heavy offroad use. Great value for size and
aggresiveness of tire. Buy again. |

Extremely soft
compound leads to superior traction even in cold weather and has good
self cleaning ability. If you are interested in getting 50K miles out of
a tire, this is not your tire, but if you are interested in an aggresive
looking tire with great traction and a road handling and noise level of
a good radial this tire can''t be beat. |

Amazing Tire.
They grip everything. Mud, Rocks, Sand, Pavement. This is an spectacular
upgrade from the lousy OEM tires. They are not quiet, but do not thrum
like traditional M/T tires. They are a little quieter than my studded
snow tires. I drive my Tundra like a sports car on the road and these
things actually have grip (I think it is the soft rubber compound.) I''ve
noticed pretty fast wear so I think I'll only get about 15,000 miles out
of them, but that is a good trade-off for how fantastic they work. I
haven't had them in snow yet, so I can't say how they work in snow. |

though). I went from Interco Super Swampers to these gems and love them

I HAVEN''T HAD
THE TIRES LONG ENOUGH TO TELL TREAD LIFE, BUT I LOVE THEIR LOW ROAD

DON'T CORNER OR STEER WELL, BUT THAT'S MY OWN FAULT, NOT THE TIRES. WHEN

These are a
good tire. I have several sets on several vehicles. Have owned BFG''s,
Dunlops and other Goodyear. Here in Nome, Alaska it's all gravel roads,
rock and mud in summer, snow and ice in winter. Draw backs are six flat
tires on two vehicles in one year. Wide tread pattern exposes softer
underbelly and sharp rocks go right through, a price you pay for
traction. Gravel roads limit this tire to about 12,000 miles before
their back is broken, same as BFG and others even though half tread life
remains. Until somebody comes up with something better I will buy more
of these. |

Used heavily
off road. These tires are acceptable on the street but they are
INCREDIBLE off road. They clean well in mud, have outstanding sidewall
protection, had good traction on loose trails, and cleaned well in the
snow. Because of their aggressive tread design they dug too much in the
sand, even when aired down to 10psi. They also grip rocks like there is
no tomorrow. I recommend this tire for the weekend/serious off roader. |

At 15000 miles
I still have more than half tread left. These tires are awesome!! We
currently run BFG Mud Terrains on our other Toyotas and they have not
been wearing real well. My tires are perfectly flat accross the top
maybe has to do alot with alignment and rotation. But I will never buy
BFGs again. MT/Rs are also quieter than BFGs. And ride 5 times better. I
will make these the next set of tires for the rest of our fleet of field
trucks. Also BFGs seem to get sidewall punctures very easily we have
replaced 3.....1 on each vechicle. |

fantastic ! I was surprised at how smooth the ride is and how responsive

much more road hum and sway with those tires. These Goodyear Wrangler

money, but I would buy these again in a heartbeat ! Try them, you won't

I have had just
about every mud terrain tire BFG, Swamper, Wild Country, BFG all terrain,

II 4wd, GMC 4wd, F1504wd, and now These Goodyear MT/R''s on my F250 4x4
diesel, it weighs close to 8000lbs. and these are by far the quietest
and best rideing on/off road that I have had owned. I pull all kinds of
things car & horse trailers. They even look nice, I expect it to
preform just as well once the wet season comes here or now when there is
plenty of sugar sand just off the road. I looked at Dunlop and some
others similar before buying these too. Goodyear is going to give BFG
some competition with this tire, no doubt. |

anyone who requires a strong tire with an aggressive tread, but still
drives on the freeway. These tires have held up to severe abuse. the
full spectrum of, High speed (85mph)/hot day/long time, to hard granite

I have put them in mud (I rate a 10 on performance), on rocks (I rate a 10 on performance), in sand (I rate a 7 on performance), and on-road driving (I rate an 8 on performance). Overall, I am very pleased with their performance, wearability, and even their looks. |

Absolutely the
best off road tire I have ever purchased. Last year in a late season
snow storm there were vehicles stuck everywhere on the interstate. There
was about 6" to 10" of snow on the ground and it was all slush
underneath. In these types of conditions is very difficult to get any
type of traction to the ground consistantly. These tires just laughed at
the snow and kept on going. They tread wear is fantastic. The only
weakness of this tire is on wet road, if you need to make a panic stop
then these tire will slide a bit more than with a normal tire. Remember
these tires have a very big agressive lug pattern. These tires are great
for serious offroading in the mud and they do double duty in the snow. |

these tires are
awesome!!! they are like the next bext thing to a bogger, except they
dont wear down like boggers and super swampers do, and on top of that
their goodyear. I like the 33's so much that Im upgrading to 35's and
the 33's have barely seen the road. Overall these tires rule in every
terrain condition, Petersons 4wheel and offroad magazine rated them #3
in the 100 ft mudd drag, only losing to a super swamper, and bogger. I
used to own a set of 33x14r15 boggers that sucked every where, but they
didi dominate in the mud. MTRs are the tire of on/off roader choice. |

I use these
tires on my heavily modified Suzuki Sidekick. I have conquered Moab, the
Rubicon, and the Hammers with these tires. I am impressed at their
puncture resistance. They air down wonderfully with the wrap around
tread design providing additional traction on the toughest of trails. I
have several slits in the sidewalls and a few gores into the tread but
they have never lost air. These tires are the toughest tires I've ever
owned. They are aggressive enough to chew through mud and snow. The high
void tread pattern hooks up well in soft dirt. I was a little dubious as
to their ability to clean out thick mud but they quickly cleaned out
even the thickest of red clay even at low speeds. The tread life is
surprising. I have 11,000 miles on mine and the tread is still providing
excellent traction. As good as they are offroad they do have some
weaknesses on road. First off is their ride. The super tough compound
three ply sidewalls provide a harsh ride. I've found airing down to 25
PSI front and 20 PSI rear to help both ride and handling onroad. Also,
the total lack of sipes tends to make them a little squirrely on slick
pavement. I've learned to drive very cautiously when the road is frozen.
Finally, they are just as noisy as the super aggressive tread pattern
looks to be. Get them on smooth cement and they'll howl like banshees.
It looks like Goodyear set out to make the ulitmate street friendly off
road tire when they created the MTR. As long as I drive the toughest
trails America has to offer, and drive hundreds of miles to get there,
these tires will be on the vehicle untill somebody creates something
better. |

Your Toyota category forced me to pick "2WD" but I have a 4WD pickup. The Wrangler M/T's cup significantly on the front, are very noisy and getting worse. Off road traction excellent, rain performance fair for a pickup. Would only recommend them for persons spending the bulk of their time off road (and I mean that - had I have known what they were really like I would have never bought them). Despite what Goodyear says these are not a good choice for daily street driving. Low hydroplaning on wet highway only redeeming street quality. Advise your sales people to discourage customers who factually require primarily street and highway use from buying these. |
