International Fleur de Lis
Meaning

  • The three petals, of the same form that the three fingers of the Scout Sign, remember to us the three points of the Scout Promise:
The central finger, God and Fatherland.
The left, aid to the fellow being.
The right, observation of the Scout Law.
  • The line that divides the central petal, the needle of a compass, meaning that the Scout is able to follow the straight way in its life, of the same form as the needle of the compass always indicates to the north.
  • The two stars, each one of five tips, the life outdoors, the ideals of veracity and knowledge of the Scout Movement. Also remember the 10 articles of the Scout  Law.
  • The circlet  that join the three petals, the union of the Scout brotherhood, detail that is reinforced by the cord that surrounds the lily flower, remembering to us that our brotherhood is world-wide.
  • The cord goes united in its two ends by a knot, this it is a work knot and it remembers the Scout that its single overcoming will be with effort and dedication.
