Louise and Nina were known thanks to the actress Lili Taylor (she was friend of both) then  they decided to form a band, they obtained a bass for classified announcements and the first drum of the band was Jim Shapiro (Nina Gordon's brother) the first performance of the band was in July (1994) in the bar Musical Phyllis, in Chicago little time later the band had the first album "American Thighs" then the band began a tour with other bands like Hole and PJ 
Harvey VS also appeared in many sound tracks and in many albums of other bands 

Louise y Nina se conocieron gracias a la actriz Lili Taylor (ella era amiga de ambas) entonces decidieron formar una banda, ellas obtuvieron un bajista por avisos clasificados y el primer batería de la banda fue Jim Shapiro(hermano de Nina Gordon) la primera actuacion de la banda fue en julio (1994) en el bar Phyllis Musical, en Chicago poco tiempo después la banda tenía su primer album "American Thighs" entonces la banda comenzó una gira con otras bandas como Hole y PJ Harvey VS tambien apareció en muchos sound tracks y en muchos albums de otras bandas
