Bett's cancer-riddled body has enormous regenerative and duplicative powers, but he must ingest cancerous tissue to survive. He eats the tumors of his victims, apologizing to them before hand by saying, "I'm sorry, but you have something I need." Scully kills him using defibrillation pads after he attacks her.
