Here noone has to worry about fighting because the one rule is to leave problems at the door. You wouldn't normally see many of these magical beings in the same room, but its possible here.
In this room of peace Giants, Elves, Brownies, Fays, Goblins, Fairies, Gnomes, Imps, Ogres, and Leprechauns come together for mischief, fun, or just to get away. Below you can find some info on all of these mystical beings.
Giants
The Giants found here are big and strong with a small brain which works slowly. They are quite lonely and terribly misunderstood because most creatures run from them. There is nothing they want so much as a friend with whom to play hide-and-seek, checkers, and exchange niceties. Before anyone decides to run out and console his neighborhood Giant, though, it should be understood that geing a Giant's friend has certain intrinsic dangers. The poor, clumsy brute is more than likely, at some point in the relationship, to inadvertently squash, stop on and otherwise damage his dear pal. It's not easy to be a Giant's friend so be careful.
Elves
Elves love to dance the night away in the green groves and misty meadows, under the slivery light of the moon. When the cock crows at sunrise, they vanish back into the hills, leaving a circle of tall green grass, called "elf rings" or "fairy rings." They are also master metal-smiths who guard the secrets of the ancient runic signs carved on the standing stones. Some Elves can also assume any shape and fortell the future. The most beautiful Elves and the Mound Folf. They have pale slivery skin and wear peasant clothing in the magic colors of red, grey, and green. They are bound to the night-world because the sunlight turn them to stone. These are the Elves found here the most.
Brownies
A Brownie is a household Hob, feeling dutybound to keep the hearth, home, barn, animals and humans he adopts as his own in tiptop order. An English-Scottish type of Brownie doesn't eat much. The food must never be offered him directly though, but simply placed within reach, as if someone forgot to put it away. If given any sign of gratitude, especially a new suit of clothes, the Brownie will up and leave, taking the luck of the house with him. These are only 1-2 feet tall and dress in raggedy clothes with hardly a nose at all. The Nisse Brownies like to live with the animals of the home. He overprotects and overfeeds his favorites and lets go the ones he doesn't like. These appear as little old men dressed in grey. The Bwca Brownies are good, but very sensitive. If he feels humilitaed in any way, he immediately becomes a fierce little Hobgoblin seeking revenge. The mischief will never stop and the Bwca will not leave. He must be driven away with holy water and iron. The Boggart is a Hobgoblin Brownie, more of a nuisance than a help. There is not a sinister bone in his small furry body; he is just irrepressibly naughty. He cleans what is dirty, but also makes dirty what is clean. Even if you can't see them, all the Brownies are around here somewhere.
Fays
Fays are "enchanted ladies"-- those meddlesome, dangerous, spell-binding beauties and evil old crones. They are not wholly human or completely satisfied to remain within the bounds of Fairyland. They are immortal and powerful with magic, yet are limited by their own violent emotions and all-too-human hearts.
Goblins
Goblins are thoroughly bad-hearted. Their sole purpose in life is to cause as much trouble as possible. There is no end to the lengths they will go in their effort to torment and frighten their randomly chosen victims. If you have ever had "one of those days," then you know all about Goblins and thier modern descendants, the Gremlins, who specialize in mechanical failure. They are little, furry, ugly and mean. Some are gullible; some are not. Some can change their shape and appear on wild windy nights as fierce black ponies or snarling dogs. Goblins do come here for peace, if you can believe that, so be nice.
Fairies
In some places Fairies were thought to be descendants of the original inhabitants of the land. Long ago, the Fairy people were conquered by human invaders and retreated into the "hollow hills." There, in great underground palaces, they feast, fight, dance, and sing their unearthly, ancient tunes. Throughout the year, one should be wary of twilight and the hazy hours just before dawn. This is when the boundaries between the world of Fairies and the world of humans grow thin and it is possible to become lost into the hollow hills--never to be seen again. The small Fairies are called Pixies. Fairies and Pixies come in both good and evil, and all kinds are welcomed here.
Gnomes
"Gnome" has become the name used to include all the supernatural Dwarfs, both being defined as the elemental spirits of the earth. They are fully grown at 3, grey-bearded at 7. They are anywhere from 2-4 feet tall and live approximately 2,000 years. The Scandinavian Dwarfs are among the oldest and wisest creatures in existence, being wiser than men but less powerful than gods. These Drawfs have an extreme distrust of human beings. This distrust is well-founded considering the many attempts which has been made to strip them of their treasue and their power by stealing their cloaks, caps, or thin magic belts. It is best to keep these beings on your side, for they are fierce fighters when cornered or cheated. They are also sturdy and courageous warriors on the battlefield. A Knocker is rarley seen, but seeks out the company of human miners and often befriends them. They thump and bang in areas where rich ore is to be found, and showers miners with stones to warn them of danger. Both types of these Gnomes come here.
Imps
An Imp is a little devil who is a miserable failure; never being able to accomplish enough evil work to be qualified for true demonhood. It is not surprising that imps find their low position on Hell quite depressing and make freuent excursions up into the world to take another stab at being evil. In almost every instance, all their plotting and planning comes to naught; yet, ever hopeful, the Imps try, try again. Since the Imp is a master of disquise, he is not often seen in his true form. When he is, it is obvious from the top of his horned, little, pointy-eared head to the tips of his cloven hooves that he is definitely a chip--but a very small chip--off The Old Block. These little devils come here, but who's to know what they will do.
Ogres
Ogres are cruel, bloodthirsty, and somewhat dense, but can be found here. It can be seen that Ogres are generally financially very well-off, can have from 1-7 heads located atop one thick neck, and can be easily duped. Some Ogres are also master magicians and can change their shape into any animal they choose. Given the general culpability and overall failure of these Ogres to win the day, it is doubtful this type of Giant poses much a threat as a vicious man-eater.
Leprechauns
The Leprechaun is a very busy little fellow replacing his own shoes when he has worn them out with dancing. He saves his money and lives quite frugally. Treasure crocks of Leprechaun gold are hidden all about the counrtyside in secret places where no man can usually find them. They stand about 6-24 inches tall, have ruddy complexions ans especially rosy noses. When working, they wear a cobbler's leather apron and plain, shabby clothes of green, but when out upon the countryside looking for fun, they cut quite a remarkable figure in shirts trimmed with fine lace, velvet waist-coats complete with shiny buttons, long blue stockings, and high heeled shoes sporting enormous silver buckles. Each, in all of his grandness, is seated proudly on the back of a pony who is, of course, kelly-green. Eventhough these have no other relatives besides those who share their name, and they live apart from all the other Fairies, they still come here.
