David Moon Crow was born on a reservation where he lived most of his life. He went to public schools, and even went onto college on a specail program. His father and his grandfather where both heavaly into tradition, and the ways of thier people. David never really beleaved in the old stories and things that his grandmother would tell him when he was young. When Moon Crow was twenty-one his father and grandfather called for him to return home, and he did. When he got there his grandfather told him of the great Coyote, and the gift that he had given to there familly many, many years ago. Coyote had come to his great, great grandfather and given him hte gift of the animal. WIth this gift he could change into any animal or bird that he wanted. Coyote said that he must use his gift to help his people, and to protect the land and the skys. His father told him that it was time for him to be given this gift, for his father was getting old, and knew that his son could benefit from the gift more then he could.
David would use this gift to help his people, and protect them from several unusual events that happened in his life time. The news of this shape changing man got back to the leaders of S.N.A.I.L., and they send agents to investigate. When they encountered David, he knew that joining them would give him the chance to really help his people, as well as all the people on the planet.
Durring David's time in the alternet dimention, (See Threw the Looking Glass) he suffered a great amount of damage, and was going to die. The team found themselves at a vilage, and the vilage asked for help in solving the problems they had, in excane the group agreed to help if they helped them fix there truk, as well as help there hurt friend. There was a shaman there who took to care for David. What the team didn't know was that this Shaman was really David Moon Crow, as a ninty seven year old man. David knew this as soon as he entered the hut. David was told that the gift he was given was lost in this world when his son was killed before he could pass it on to his son's son. He knew that in order for the gift to continue in this time, it must be past on. It was only because of the gift that he was still alive, and he knew that once he released the gift he would be dead. He gave the gift back to his people, so they could continue the fight agenst evil.
