Very HIPPIE IBM Pc Game Reviews! & links to FREE Demos!

One the first games I played that took me beyond the realm of Monopoly & Go Fish was Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. The game of mythic hero role-playing. I also remember some the early attempts at trying to bring the game into the video arena (Mattel's Intellivision comes to mind, how sad it was!). Well, while Diablo isn't a product of TSR, it does have a good AD&D feel to it. It features three charcter class which are-Warrior, Rouge, & Sorcerer. The game mechanics are VERY easy!The main conrtol is the mouse & all you do is point and click to do almost any function (although there also "hot" keys as well). The graphics are great, too!
Another nice touch is the random dungeon generator, no matter how many times you play, each time you start a new game, the programming creates a new dungeon floor plan unique to that game, making for great replayablity!!! Once again, this games has a little age on it (But I say, "If you haven't played it before than it's new to you!")and you can get it at Wal-Mart for $15, YES!!! Hip Rating of *****

Well, I went, I got, I returned, I refunded. Actually, I would have like this game much better if I weren't 3Dfx impaired. I have an un-accelerated 233mhz PC with 32xCD, which the game would & did run on my PC. The look, even non-accelerated, was nice but the game play was choppy. The game itself is futuristic racing game set in a devastated world. The are plenty cars, tracks & more to chose from. And I found plenty cheat out on the web (I put some down in my cheat section, see below). I did have some fun on the stunt track as well. Maybe after I get 3D card (hopefully before the end of the millennium!) I'll give it another shot but for now, I'll have to pass.

X-wing/TIE fighter CD-rom Set

For my birthday, I recieved the X-Wing Collectors Series on CD-rom by Lucasarts & Totally Games & it is FANTATIC!!! If you haven't got your little grubbies on this one, you need to! Even if your not a big Star Wars nut (as I am), these are still great games! The set includes X-Wing (which has been revamped from it's original design, including the addition of the B-wing starfighter), TIE fighter (which I am currently into, it's BADASS!), & X-Wing vs. TIE fighter flight school (it is a demo version, but has different missions than the on-line version available at www.LucasArts.com, see below). I haven't played on-line yet (still honing my pilot skills don't ya know), but when I do you will hear about it here! If flight sims are your bag, don't miss this one!

FREE X-WING vs. TIE FIGHTER DEMO

I recently downloaded the free demo of X-wing vs. TIE Fighter by LucasArts at their web site; www.lucasarts.com, & I must say, it really wets my appetite for the real deal. It features great graphics & plays well. If you have not tried it, I highly recommend you check it out! Hip Rating of *****

Flight SIMS!

FREE WARBIRDS WWII flight sim

I went to CNET.COM and downloaded the free demo version of WarBirds by IMAGIC OnLine. I think it's very good. The graphic and play are good as well as the sound. I downloaded both the basic and full versions The basic plays about the same but is limited a bit on the graphics. I liked the full install version better and kept it. If you like WWII flight simulators, you may wanna check it out. BE WARNED HOWEVER, it's a big file and it will take awhile (about 2 hours with my 56k). If you limmited on space, time, or speed, you may wanna get the basic. Hip Rating of ****

I've also been checkin' out the CDrom of Magic The Gathering & It is FANTASTIC!, If your are Magic player, you will LOVE this & if you are unfamiliar with the card game, don't worry. The game built in tutoral is exellent. The cd is good enough that if you learn to play it, you can pick up the actual card game with no problem! Hip Rating of *****
