BloodLust
by Isabelle Greyson

Disclamer: I don't own Buffy or Angel (and if I did, things would be VERY different!) They belong to Joss Whedon, etc, etc...

Authors Note: This is my first time posting fan fic, although not the first story I've writtin. I would appreaciate any comments you have so feedback, feedback!
This story was inspired by an event in reptile boy. It's kind of short but hopefully really good. The timeline is anywhere between that and before surprise/innocence.
So sit back and hopefully enjoy. here goes...

Buffy could sense Angel behind her. She turned and could just make
him out standing in the shadows.
"Angel?" She called. He reluctantly stepped out. "Hi."She said.
"Why didn't you come out?" Buffy felt confused. Her and Angel were
together now... unless Angel had changed his mind. Angel smiled
hesitantly.
"Hey..." He said softly. Buffy stood awkwardly, for once, not
knowing what to say.
"Ummm...I'm, uh, walking back home, want to join me?" She asked
hopefully. "Come on!" She added when Angel didn't respond. He fell
into step beside her and the two walked like two strangers in silence
until Buffy stopped.
"Okay, what is wrong with you?" She asked, a little annoyed with
him.
"Are you mad or something because I feel like I don't know you."
Angel looked at her.
"It's strong tonight." He said, looking down shyly.
"What is?" Buffy asked, although she already knew the answer.
"The blood lust." Angel replied. He sighed. "You shouldn't have
to be hearing this."
"I don't mind." Buffy told him, although the thought of it
disgusted her. "Don't you have...stuff at home?" She offered, not
really knowing what to say to him. She hated these kind of talks with
him. It was like talking to a stranger and not Angel.
"No." Angel replied. "*Real*, warm blood, fresh blood." He said.
"I'm sorry but I can't explain it but there is such a difference..."
"I think I understand." Buffy said. She thought for a moment.
"Take some of mine." She said suddenly.
"What?" Angel asked, shocked.
"Take some of mine- my blood." Buffy repeated. "You know. Not
enough to... kill me but just some."
"I couldn't do that!" Angel snapped. "I'll lose control. It has
been too long, I'll kill you!"
"No you won't." Buffy replied firmly. "You're too strong to lose
control." Angel shook his head.
"You don't know what it's like." He whispered. "I could never put
your life in jeopardy just to satisfy what I want. I couldn't do that
to you."
"I'm offering aren't I?" Buffy replied, moving closer to Angel.
"I'm not just a helpless victim for you to prey on. I want you to
do this." She leaned upwards and kissed him. Angel tried to break
away.
"Not tonight." Angel pleaded. "I can't tonight." But Buffy was
insistent and Angel finally began to respond. He wrapped his arms
around Buffy's waist and pulled her close to him. The kiss became
deeper. Buffy sighed against Angel's lips.
"Do it." She whispered. Angel moaned at the words. It may have
been the night, or the kiss, or Buffy's insisting, but Angel kissed
Buffy with all the passion in him and broke away. He looked into
Buffy's eyes and kissed her one last time. Then, he bent down his
head and sank his teeth into her vein.
Buffy felt a sharp pain and cried out. She could feel the blood
draining from her and thoughts began to cloud. But she trusted Angel
enough to pull away before it was too late. The pain slowly began to
lessen and Buffy felt a calm. She sagged against Angel, which must
have been a warning signal, because Angel pulled away in shock and
caught her as she was about to fall to the ground.
"Buffy?" Angel cried frantically. He set her on the ground. "Are
you okay? I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Buffy
opened her eyes.
"I'm alright." She whispered weakly. "Just give me a few minutes."
She lay there, Angel cradling her weak body and her strength slowly
began to return, enough for her to stand.
"God, Buffy." Angel whispered. "Don't you ever, *ever* let me do
that to you again! Do you hear me? I could have killed you!"
"You didn't though." Buffy replied. "Doesn't that count for
something?"
"If you were anybody other than the slayer..." Angel trailed off.
"Come on." Buffy said, taking his arm. "You said you'd walk me
home."
They walked in silence once again for the rest of the way to Buffy's
house, but this time they were not strangers. Angel helped Buffy
climb through her window. She was still very weak and would be for a
few days. Angel turned to leave.
"I trust you, Angel." Buffy said softly. Angel turned.
"I don't trust myself." He replied and leaned down and kissed her
softly. "Sleep well." And then he was gone.
