Dejavu?

(part 2)
Disclaimer on first part
The other occupants of the room looked on in amazed horror. For
one in
his immortal lifetime, Angelus was speechless. Buffy even stopped
herself from attacking at the sight of her best friend making
out with a
vampire. She’d seen it before, but had hoped it wouldn’t happen
again.
Spike and Willow could both feel the passion being ignited and
the
memories of their first meeting surging to the surface, breaking
free
from under layers of denial and confusion. Willow buried her
hands in
Spike’s hair and pressed herself closer to him, trying to drown
in him.
He responded in kind, his mind empty of anything beyond the
feelings,
the taste of her lips and the passion that was stirring within
him.
Willow started to feel a bit faint and immediately realized that
she
needed air, and fast! She pulled away with a gasp, clutching
onto
Spike’s shoulders for support as she sucked air into her empty
lungs.
Spike seemed dazed for a moment while he regained control of
his
rampaged emotions and his body’s responses.
All at once the impact of what had happened hit them. They replayed
a
part of their first meeting to the letter. At the same time,
Spike and
Willow both jumped away from eathother, trying to gather their
bearings.
They stared into the eyes of the other as reality crashed down
on them.
Willow seemed to be mouthing something but no air was pushing
past her
lungs to make the appropriate sounds. Spike eyes just widened
and her
started to look a little afraid for his life -- or rather, his
unlife.
All eyes were on the startled couple in the middle of the room.
Angelus
was the first to break out of his trance.
“What in Satan’s name was THAT?” He managed to convey enough
contempt
into that statement, which it would shame even the most hardened
racist.
Willow started babbling to God or some othersuch nonsense. Spike
on the
other hand, knew what his future probably held and was not liking
it in
the least. And he voiced his concern.
“Oh shit,” he whispered, his voice laced with tension. “I’m going
to be
staked by everyone here. I’m leaving. Now.” With that he turned,
but
before he could take a step, Willow’s hand shot out and wrapped
itself
around his wrist. Spike tried to shake her off but she held
on tight,
her face set and clearly conveying the resolve that she felt.
“Wait. I’ve got to explain this to them and you’re not going
anywhere
until I’m done. So, stay.” Her tone had gotten harsher and louder
and by
the time she was done, Willow was practically shouting and her
tone left
no room for any arguments. Spike decided, and wisely too, not
to contest
her decision. He still had the bruises from their last fight.
“Well, anyone want to explain? I’m getting VERY impatient. Trust
me
when I say that’s not a good thing.” Angelus was acting like
the idiot
that he is and furthering angering the pissed-off hacker. Willow
intended to take this at her own pace but with every word out
of
Angelus’ mouth, her hatred and anger towards him came to the
surface.
“Shut UP!! How dare you come in here and try to kill us. AGAIN!
Are you
some sort of child or something. I mean, what’s up with this
whole
revenge kick, anyways? Isn’t the whole ‘I’m gonna’ hurt Buffy
‘cause she
made me feel good’ a little childish. Why don’t you just accept
the fact
that you were once almost human and get on with your life…or
unlife as
the case may be.”
Druscilla whimpered at the tone of Willow’s voice, and drew Willow’s
attention away from Angelus. Willow wasn’t too impressed with
Dru
either. Her antics had got them into trouble more than once
and she was
sick of the insane vampiress. She stalked over to the raven-haired
beauty and started to tear into her as well.
“What the hell is wrong with YOU? Wimpering like a dog? Oh, and
by the
way, if you’re a clairvoyant, why didn’t you see this plan fail?
I mean,
what a load of shit!” All traces of the caring and shy Willow
had
vanished, replaced by a brave and out-spoken individual who
had done a
good job thus far and was continuing to put on a show worth
seeing.
Willow felt a pair of hands drop to her shoulders and a heavily-accented
voice reached her ears.
“Pet, I’m thinking that maybe you should calm down a bit. I’ve
got a
feeling that we both have a lot of explaining to do. You might
find it
easier to help with that if you’re not so bloody angry, hmmmm?”
Spike
was rather impressed with Willow’s temper. It rivaled that of
Dru’s and
was pretty damn sexy. At least to a vampire.
Willow saw the truth in Spike’s suggestion. Things WOULD go a
lot
smoother if she could just get a grip on her rampaging emotions.
She
turned around, gave Spike a stiff and curt nod of the head then
walked
over to the library table. She glanced around the room taking
in the
shocked and disbelieving stares that came from everyone except
Spike. He
had seen what she could do, the others had not.
“Soooo,” Willow drew the word out, trying to avoid looking at
the
others. “Time for a rousing game of ‘Twenty Questions’. Who
wants to go
first?”
“Me,” yelped Xander, his voice cutting out the other volunteers.
“What
the Hell happened to you? When did you become Superwoman? And
why in
God’s name did you just suck face with HIM? Are you possessed
or
something? Has this happened before? You two looked pretty comfortable
there”
Willow shook her head, already feeling a massive headache coming on. She just shook her head and remembered the last time she played this game. Buffy had asked the same questions, same order and with the same tone. This time however, she had an audience composed of friends AND enemies. Suddenly the weight of her actions became apparent to her and she groaned. I can’t believe I just did that! I mean I kissed him! How could I
do that? He’s the enemy. He’s tried to kill us a dozen times
and then I go and kiss him. What is wrong with me? You’d
think I’d learn.
While she was mentally kicking herself, another thought came
to her. Wait a minute. Spike wasn’t actually fighting me off
or anything. Hmmmm, interesting. Now why would he NOT do anything. That isn’t like him. Spike would gladly jump at the chance to kill me. Wouldn’t he?
Willow snuck a glance at the vampire in question. His posture
was tense
but his eyes had a glazed look to them and he wasn’t paying
any
attention to the other occupants of the room.
Spike had stopped paying attention for a very good reason. Or
at least
in his mind, it was a very good reason. He was thinking about
Willow.
More specifically, about Willow’s mouth and the two times he’d
been able
to touch it with his own. Memories of their first encounter
mixed with
this most recent one. He realized that Angleus and Dru were
both sending
him nasty glares and promises of revenge. He turned to Willow,
who was
getting ready to answer the boy’s questions.
“In order, I kissed him, and in doing so saved all your butts.
I’m not
Superwoman, do you see tights or spandex? Once again, I did
it because I
didn’t want anyone dead. NO, I’m not possessed or anything else
like
that, Buffy asked the same question. And last but not least,
YES, this
has happened before. Satisfied?” She had said this all in one
breath,
and was quite winded by the end.
“Um, Willow? What do you mean, this had happened before?” Giles,
the
ever listening Watcher, was very hesitant in his questioning.
He didn’t
fancy being the object of her wrath. “You also mentioned Buffy,
something about her asking the same questions. Does she know
about
another encounter?” He had picked up on this little detail,
while it had
sailed over the heads of the others. His gaze turned to Buffy,
changing
from hesitant to disapproving.
“Oh, right…Buffy. Great. Me and My big mouth….”
