As you can see, I used half-depth milk crates to hold the rode. I have to replace them every few years because the Florida sun eats them up, but it's inexpensive and easy. If I ever find some SS baskets in one of our surplus yards, I will put them in instead.  I had the SS holder fabricated at a local shop - pricey, but worth it.

This shows the tube attachment from the Port side. I had SS half-round brackets fabricated for the bottom of the tube and they fasten with 3/8 SS bolts and  SS nylock nuts. The rode is fastened to the tube; when it is deployed, it does not come over the hanger - that would put too much stress on it. The hanger is used only to hold the anchor and assist in retreival. To adjust the length of the rode, I take several turns around the tube and cleat it off on the side of the basket. The tube takes all the strain, the cleat just keeps it from getting loose.
