Design: The M41 is constructed from ultra-light alloy precision metal stampings. The outer casing is made of titanium aluminide alloy and it's internal parts are made from high-impact, temperature resistant plastics. It has a spring-loaded retractable stock, which allows the rifle to be used in a carbine format with stock retracted or as a rifle.

The M41 is fully sealed against corrosion, dirt and moisture and easy to disassemble and maintain. This allows it to be used in a multitude of environments, including a vacuum.

Ammunition: The US M309 round contains a caseless propellant block of Nitramine 50. This small amount of propellant allows the round to reach a velocity of 840 meters per second. The round is also steel-jacketed and explosive tipped and is designed to penetrate body armor. It explodes after impact to inflict lethal internal damage.

To fire, the M41 uses electronic pulse action. The rifle can be set to a four-round burst or full automatic fire at up to 900 rpm. An LED display indicates how much ammo remains in the clip.

The grenade launcher holds 4 rounds. A pump action loads the round and cocks the firing mechanism. The trigger for the grenade launcher is located in front of the magazine housing.
