The Kimono Club -- I and several of my shipmates took a few days off after returning from 12 days of sea trials in March and explored the rich culture of Japan. Here we stayed at a traditional Japanese hotel, wearing the kimonos, sleeping on foutons, eating Japanese style and relaxing in hot springs.

While exploring the Japanese culture, we visited a samurai theme park which was very interesting. It was full of shows about Japan's history, with martial arts demonstrations, battles and sword fights. It was all in Japanese, so I did have kind of a hard time following it. But it was exciting nontheless.

Here I'm demonstrating my skills in the ancient art...or the lack thereof.
