      Remember the Plodex ship that brought Marrina to Earth? [What? You didn't read Marrina's entry?!? Back up and do it now! - C] Well, just because all the eggs got dumped before imprinting, doesn't mean that the ship didn't start looking for Earth's dominant lifeform...
      The ship sent out a telepathic signal that forced a number of lifeforms to travel north. Among them was a nomad who was SO nasty his tribe forced him out. Through sheer orneriness (and eating the remains of the animals who didn't make it...) the nomad made it to the ship.
      Where he was captured, and dissected. While still alive. Eventually, however, his strong willed mind took control of the ship's systems. He made the ship recreate his body, and then discovered that... he was still trapped. He was too tightly integrated to have the ship let him go.
      Then the Master discovered Marrina's existence, and he formulated a plan. First, he used a device that made Marrina go berserk and head for the ship. This of course, brought Alpha in hot pursuit. When they arrived he managed to trick Guardian into destroying enough of the ship that he could escape into a specially prepared submarine.
      When next the Master popped up, he had a plan for taking over the world [Naturally... with a title like his, what do you expect? :) - C] using Marrina and another Plodex. This Plodex turned out to be Marrina's mate, by an incredible coincidence. This plan was defeated by the efforts of Puck and the Sub-Marriner.
      Since then, the Master has completely reformed himself into what he calls "the ultimate human being" by using an enzyme from the blasted remains of Scramble, the Mixed-Up Man. He also formed a new version of Omega Flight and attempted a behind-the-scenes political take-over of Canada under the name Joshua Lord. [For "lord and master", get it? - C] This take-over attempt was ultimately defeated by Alpha Flight, but Department H (and Alpha) were dissolved after the entire matter was investigated by the Federal Government.
      Although the Master seemingly disintegrated himself when his plan fell apart, he has since resurfaced. The fate of Omega Flight is unknown, as the Master has been shown using the U-Foes as disposable flunkies. [My guess is that Omega Flight is still languishing in the kind embrace of the Canadian Penal System. They oughta be up for parole any time now. -C] The Master has apparently undergone some hardship however; his face has been severely damaged since the time of the Joshua Lord plot.
      The Master's latest plan involved "saving the world" by destroying most of the human population. This plan was thwarted by the Heroes 4 Hire. In the process, his base of operations was destroyed. The current fate of the Master is unknown, but given his gift for survival he is almost certain to reappear again.
      The Master has unknown super-human abilities that he gave himself with the Scramble enzyme. He has offensive and defensive weaponry built into his armor, and also has access to a wide variety of Plodex technology at any given time.
