Jim skipped as he went up the green hill. He held his Suezo, Blaze tightly as if frightened it might dissapear. Blaze was getting restless and wanted to be put down. It made a little crying noise and Jim gave up and let it go.
"Fine, you can walk but don't run off. "Jim said. The Suezo answered with a squeel of joy. Jim chuckled.
They continued up the hill looking at the thick trees on either side and about half way up they came across a pond filled with Lily's and frogs. Wild flowers of every colour grew around the green pond and an old fat willow was placed at its side giving it a nice shade.
Blaze wanted to catch frogs but Jim caught it before he could do any damage. " Don't attack frogs please," Jim told him.
They continued up the hill until they were finally there. The house was quite small and made of wood. The red paint was peiling off and some old weeds were planted under a dust old window. Jim loved it. The shed was where Blaze was going to sleep and it was placed next to the house. "Blaze, go and play near the pond but don't catch any more frogs." Jim said. Blaze obediently obeyed and went down the hill.
"Now.." Jim said," Time to get things organised. "And with that he walked in the house.
There were four rooms inside the house. Jim started with the one in the far left. It was an old kitchen. A few cupboards were placed in one side of the room .He walked over and opened them. The first one contained two barrels of oil. The next one had some oil lamps (Good, Jim said) and the last one was filled with tinned food.
"This should last me a while." Jim said to himself.
That was it for the kitchen. Jim walked in to the opposite room. The door creaked open and Jim walked inside.To his suprise, it wasn't old and dark like the other parts of the house. A double bed was placed in th middle of the room with a bed side table near it. An empty cupboard stood in front of it and a desk with a chair was in the far corner. Lots of pictures of monster hung in this room. Jim thought that they were probably all of his grand father. He opened the drawer of the bed side table and found a little piece of paper in it. To his surprise it was a ticket to a monster tournament. The ticket read:
MONSTER TOURNAMENT
Date: 27 July
Time: 4 pm
City: Atlam
NOTE: SPECTATORS ARE NOT ALOUD
TO BRING THEIR OWN MONSTER!
"Wow!" Jim exclaimed," Today is the 27th of July!" Jim didn't bother to see the next room. He dashed out of the house and down the hill. He wanted to get there early so he could get a place at the front row.
When he came to the pond, he saw Blaze with two other people. Well one was a monster, a Hare to be exact.
"Hi!" Jim called," What's your name?"
"I'm Jade," said a girl of about sixteen," Is this your monster?" She had a bossy sort of tone in her voice but she seemed to be nice enough.
" Yes, why?" Jim asked.
" Well we found him trying to eat the frogs... it could be dangerous, why did you let him come here all alone?" She asked.
" Well i'm new here... my grand father just died and-"
"Your grand father! You mean Gerald? Why didn't you say so, he taught me all I know in raising skills, we were good friends so I was kinda sad when he died." She exclaimed.
"Oh... well I never new him until I got his letter... Gerald was his name?" Jim asked.
"Yes... listen I've got to go... you see Sandy here is competing in the official tournament." She said.
"You mean the one thats starts in an half an hour?" Jim asked.
"Yes, you've got a ticket... good... go and take your Suezo to his shed, i'll wait here then we can go to the colleseum." She said.
About ten minutes later they were walking in the city, Jim asking all sorts of questions about tournaments. When they arrived, Jade wasn't surprised to see how amazed Jim was. The coleseum was a huge round building, with a pattern made of stone all around it. Jim stared for a few minutes unaware of the impatient girl near him. Finally he tore his face away from the building and walked inside.
"OK," Jade said, you don't have to worry about being first. Best friends or family members are aloud to spectate near me.
Jim was pleased because as he walked out in to the coleseum, All rows were already almost full with cheering people.
"OK.." Jade said looking at a card in her hand," Sandy fights........ Second round against... Cricky."
"Who's Cricky?" Jim asked.
" Oh, a Dino... should be easy enough for Sandy.Can't belive he is fighting a B class battle already... well I guess I owe it all to your grandfather." She sighed sadly.
"OK...LET'S BEGIN THE TOURNAMENT!" Said a loud booming voice," FIRST WE'VE GOT MOLLY AND HER TIGER, FLASH, AGAINST BEN AND HIS GOLEM, ROCKO!" Loud cheering could be heard from the audience as the two monsters took their places. "OK... THREE... TWO... ONE... FIGHT!!!"
Another announcer took over and started telling people what was happening,"Rocko immediately punches at Flash but he easily avoids the hit ...Flash doing an Ice Bomb drops the heavy Rocko .The Tiger roars making the Golem shiver. Rocko gets up and WHOA he kicks Flash and sends him flying. Flash doesn't get up... looks as though he is unconscious so... ROCKO WINS!!!!"
There was loud chheering and booing. Jim saw Molly crying at the Tigers limp body.
"OK.... NOW FOR ANOTHER ROUND... JADE AND HER HARE,SANDY, AGAINST EIDETH AND HER PIXIE , JENNY !"
"Good luck," Jim told Jade.
"OK... THREE... TWO ... ONE ... FIGHT!!!"
Jim watched as they circled each other, then suddenly Sandy did a spin kick missing the gracefull Pixie. She did lightening hitting /Sandy and knocking him down. Sandy got up and shrieked making Jim put his hands to his ear. The Pixie was stunned and Sandy immediately charged and kicked her off the ring. "SANDY WINS!!!"
"Yes!" Jim heard Jade say as he watched Sandy getting off the ring. Sandy fought about three other battles losing one against a Gali.
"OK... THE SCORES ARE ALL TIED UP FOLKS... SANDY, JADE'S MONSTER AND RAY, BOB'S MONSTER!!! THE FINAL BATTLE WILL START IN FIVE MINUTES AFTER THEY HAVE A LITTLE REST!"
"Good boy," Jade crooned as her monster lay down on a bench," Just one more battle and you win,"She urged.
Jim was thinking about Blaze. The thought of making him fight here seemed to scare him. At least, he thought, he had a friend to help him.
"OK... MONSTERS ON THE RING............GOOD WE WILL BEGIN IN THREE....TWO.... ONE.... NOW!!!"
The Gali immediately did flame making Sandy walk back then he did lightening giving Sandy a A huge cut around his belly. Sandy suddenly looked up and did a machine gun punch. He hit the Gali making it stumble back. Sandy was wincing at the pain in his chest, suddenly he let out another one of his shrieks making all the crowd hold their ears. The Gali who got the full blast fell to the floor for a second then got up and a transparent leg appeared out of nowhere kicking Sandy off the ground. Sandy made one more attack, a tomoe throw and knocked the Gali out of the ring. Then he fainted.
