This page has internet resources and ideas to help push a want-a-be writer into action.

This is just a word about feedback. The stories that get you the most feedback are fun or funny stories. People love to write "I laughed." Most people don't want to comment on stories that have obviously taken a great deal of time and trouble to write. Fellow writers are just as worried about the reaction to their as you are about yours. We try to show a hard outer shell but in truth we are considerate folk.

I know that my stories were being read but I wasn't getting much, really no, feedback. I finally gave up and put counters on the stories. You can imagine my surprise that my "Design Team" stories have been read over 1000 times but to date, I have only had ten people e-mail me with feedback. That is just under 1% of the readers.

10. The International Lyrics Server Ever been trying to remember the words to that song. I included this because I spent two hours one night trying to remember the song title "Wake Up Little Susy."

    Story Starters

    Story starters are supposed to ring a bell and make you say,"I know what happens next." These are some suggestions for the first line of your story.

    "This is the most....." she studdered, unable to find just the right word to tell him how offend she was. He just stood there smiling as her rage built.

    "It was a dark and stormy night," Tom thought that this wasn't a good way to start an away mission. They had beamed down for a quick trip to gather supplies but as usual, everything went wrong.

    Naomi thought playing with Seven was fun...now but before she was scarry. Uncle Harry liked her before but that didn't help her. She had to figure out how to get Seven to ______________ on her own.

    *Life went on, it had to but...* her thoughts was confused and muddled as the alian drug took over. She didn't know why she had been taken but how she had to try to escape.

    *Love conquers all*...right... They had been fighting on and off for two weeks and the whole crew knew it. She had heard Ensign Stevens laying a bet on how long this would go on and who would win.
    OLD

    "He made me so mad. I can't believe he did that," ___________ shouted.

    "I know I should have apologized but _____________ can be so irritating sometimes.

    "Did you have to crash another shuttle?" Janeway asked him.

    "Doc, how long are you going to keep him before I can get my hands on him?"
