I won't pretend to be an expert on today's music. I'm not really very into it. However, recently three Music videos featuring daikaiju have recently begun playing repeatedly on MTV and I figured they deserved a place on my page as much as anything. The first, "Heroes", by the Wallflowers, is from the soundtrack of the USA Godzilla movie. Despite my obvious lack of positive interest in the movie, this video is quite entertaining and the song is pretty catchy, if you're in a kind of layed back mood.
The video is portrays the Wallflowers jamming high up in a barron apartement while outside the building Godzilla is walking around. Somewhere in the middle, a cold and scared girl walks through the apartment without noticing young male musicians (yeah right), goes to the store, takes a bottle of juice puts money on the counter, walks back throught the apartement still not realizing she is in the presence of celebrities, and disappears.
Godzilla walks in front of a theater playing his/hers movie and destroys a window in the Wallflowers' apartment with a swipe of his tail. A squadron of helicopters pursue him. The end.
Although this video only shows Godzilla's feet and tail (like the commercials), it is still cool to see that he is actually in a video on MTV. I only wish it had been the Japanese Godzilla, but oh well. Sayonara!
