I think this is one of the best sites. I'm in Japan now so I don't get to see ST as many as I like to. I have a question. It's probably one of the stupidest you've encountered. Suppose you're on the lowest deck on the driving section on the Enterprise. I want to go to the Bridge. Do I get on the turbolift to get to the highest possible deck on the driving ection, then walk to the saucer section to get a tubolift there to get up to the bridge? Or does the turbolift go sideways as well as up and down. I'm sorry it's such a stupid question. But it has been bugging me for about a month. I hope you can E-mail me with the answere. As for the official site: Paramount/Viacom didn't manage to put up a good Star Trek site so far, www.startrek.com is an insult for any dedicated Star Trek fan. Their images are smaller than other people's thumbnails, not a single high resolution pic, let lone blueprints. In this respect Viacom has not the right to complain about others. Moreover, their databases (e.g. starships and personnel) are really poor, compared to the printed Encyclopedia. Nothing to learn there! 90% or more of loading time is spent on useless LCARS and banner stuff, and a new frame opens, even if its content is o ly a single sentence. Moreover, I am not the only one who experiences a browser crash after clicking only a few links on that graphics and script overloaded website. In regards to Ian Hebert's comment; I am not the webmaster for http://www.startrek.com/ (although I would love to be on the staff) I am just a 14 year old Star Trek fan who can't stand to see people like this ego-centric "Tan" scan in copyrighted material and take the credito for it as if h did tons of work. I know that you are asking why i ask of this. the reason is, is that i am a computer science major, plan to go indept into physics. i have an idea that will mak a vessel travel faster than the speed of light, well the idea is a theory that i have had since i was little.
