Jarihn

Citizen of Tar Valon

Greetings good fellow! I am called Jarihn, although beyond that I'm not sure. I was apparently born in Mafal Dadaranell, but was raised here in Tar Valon. I estimate that my next naming day would be my twentieth.  Usually I earn my stay by hawking portraits to passers by, but in bad times I'm not ashamed to admit I've had to steal to get by. One does what one must, when one's life is at stake. Anyway, I try to stay pretty far away from the Tower grounds. It's not that I'm against Aes Sedai mind you, but they generally don't approve of me, or want their portrait drawn. Instead I stay in the outer city and have thousands of new customers every day in all the people who visit the city to consult an Aes Sedai with their problems. It's a fine line, but generally a profitable one. I can take care of myself though, been doing it for fifteen years already. In the process I learned to handle small blades.  One of the few Warders ever to hire me told me that an artist's coordinated hands are best for small blades, the daggers, throwing knives and short swords. I thanked him, but refused his offer of lessons, preferring the traditional method of payment. I have however gotten to be a good aim with a pair of daggers I carry... for protection only of course. One can't have enough protection now. Ah well, I've rambled on long enough, and you're probably ready to be on your way, so I'll leave you to your travels. Unless you want a portrait?
