Mayarentari September

Book Seller/Retired Mercenary

Mayarentari September is a small woman at 4 foot 9 and appears to be of slight build. Her dark eyes and skin mark her as being from the sea side but no one is quite sure of her past or her origin. She keeps her silvering black hair short and normally wears comfortable flowing orange, yellow, spring green or cinnamon colored robes. Mayar's present occupation is as a book shop owner in Tarvalon, but she has also been a horse trainer, a street magicain, an herbalist, and the head of the infamous Mercancy Guild. Although she says her days of fighting are over; she has been know to take up her old habits for the right cause and ofcourse the right price. Mayar is quick to laugh and is very friendly. The children of Tarvalon go to her with injured animals and knees because she tells them stories while she bandages them up. Her small stature and wide-ranging background allow her to circulate through a crowd with ease. She is famous for her skills with the sword and the bow, but her greatest weapon is her own self. "Rely on yourself more than your weapons; rely on your weapons before you rely on the other people in your party." She's not really mis-trustful, she'd just rather trust herself. Rumors say that she visits the White Tower frequently to teach Warders the art of herbs and the art of hand to hand combat. Rumor also says that she does this in return for help with her gift: prophesy. Mayar won't admit it, but the townsfolk go to her for her advice. They say she has accuratly predicted floods and droughts, illness, weddings, and deaths. Mayarentari just laughs and says it's instinct and observation. The only things that Mayar won't stand for is cruelty to animals, children, and nature, and being blamed for something she didn't do. Never blame her without being absolutely sure she did it. Otherwise, you'll probably end up with a broken nose and an acheing head.
