Role: Dual Elementists are Clerics that, instead of worshipping one elment, worship two (hence the name dual...duh). A Dual Elementist sees a certain connection between two different elments which jion to form a bigger picture, so in a way they almost worship the joining of the two elements rather than the elements themselves. A Rain and Air Dual Elementist may worship the cloud that carryies the rain and is moved by the wind, over the two different elements by themsleves. This combination of elements makes almost all Dual Elementists unique and different form each other, most of the time that you run into two Dual Elementist that have the same veiws about the elements, one was probably taught by the other one. In the long run, Dual Elementist begin to wield some of the greatest powers of all. One of the biggest weakness of Clerics is that they can only cast spells that can be connected to their element but Dual Elementist can cast all spell that can be connected to either of the two elements that they worship, so by the time they reach high levels, they can cast the powerful spells of two elements.

The two elements that the player can mix is very open. One restriction is that one of the elements being mixed can not be the silt element because no one likes silt (silt is useless, it’s good for nothing, it has no point, it has no friends, it dosn’t bring life, it only destroys life, it’s ugly, it’s not nice, it tastes bad, it smells funny, it’s dirty, it dosn’t do anything, and it’s just all-a-round eeeevil). Even with this restriction, it still leaves as many 14 possible combinations, although some are hard to find connections in nature, like magma and rain.

Weapon Proficiencies: Any that is normally allowed to a Cleric.

Nonweapon Proficiencies: Bonus: Recommended:Somatic Concealment.

Armor/Equipment: Standard.

Specail Benefits:

Power Over Undead-Since the Dual Elementist worships two elements instead of one the amount of power they have over undead is greater. A Dual Elementist can turn 2d6 undead instead of the normal 2d4.

Ingore Element-At 5th level the Dual Elementist can ingore the two elements just like a normal Cleric. He has a number of rounds to do this equal to his level for each of his chosen elements.

Gate Element-At 7th level the Dual Elementist can gate his two elements just like any other Cleric. They can do this once a day for each element.

Spells-One of the most powerful abilities that the Dual Elementist gets is the fact that they get two sets of spells to cast form, one for each element. This basicly doubles the amount of spells they can cast.

Special Hindrances:

Elemental Summoning-When the Dual Elementist gets high enough in level to summon elements they can only summon one kind of elemental each day. The different elements will work together only so much, any attempts at summoning both kinds will fail.

XP Division-Yes the name is as scary as the hindrances itself. The Dual Elementist divides all the XP’s that he gains by two (ouch), this is because a Dual Elementist functions much like a multi-class character (only instead of fighter/mage, it’s cleric/cleric). For this same reason, the Dual Elementist can never be part of a multi-class combination.

NPC Ex

Ameka the Tempest of the Forever Burning Fire Storm 8th level Halfling Dual Elementist: Ameka is a dual Elementist that combines the worship of Fire with the worship of Air to get what she calls the most powerful element Fire Storm. Ameka thinks that Fire is the second most powerful element and that air exists just to fuel fire and to spread it. Now none of this makes Ameka a bad person, in fact she could be very helpful person when she wants to be. She has been known to save a few lives and to kill a few bad guys. The thing that makes Ameka such a dangerous person is that she thinks the worship of Fire Storm is the most beautiful thing there is and that it should be shared with all the people of Athas.

So Ameka finds a tribe of friendly Elves or Thri-kreens, or maybe a caravan, or even a group of soldiers -- anyone who be willing to receive the blessings of the elements. Sometimes the people she finds have heard of her and respectively say no or sometimes they just don’t trust her, which is normal. Turns out that these are the people that are truly blessed because when Ameka gets a group of people that are willing to receive the blessing, she begins the "ceremony".

In the "ceremony" Ameka starts by gating a small fire, which she then casts a spell on it that increases the fire to about the size of a small house. This is enough to set off some warning bells in the minds of those watching, but by this time it’s already too late. Ameka then ignores the fire and using powerful wind magic spreads the fire in all directions killing all who were watching.

Ameka has been doing this for a while and her tales have been told by the desert hermits and as time goes by, more and more people have heard of what she does and stay away form her. This angers her and she has been getting meaner and meaner everyday. All Ameka wants is to spread the joy of her element Fire Storm.

Ameka is small, even for a Halfling, but she is very smart having a Wis. and Int. of 20. Ameka has long, wind-blown red hair. She wears clothes that smell of burnt wood and flesh and all of her body is covered with tattoos of a burning wave of fire.
