KNOWN POWERS
EXO-SKELETON: When in operation, the exo-skeleton raises Jerry's physical
abilities to those listed on the right side of the slash. It takes 1 round
to "power up" if turned off, something Jerry rarely does while in costume.

COSTUME: The Avenger's suit is made out of padded kelvar and woven beta
cloth. It provides Excellent protection from physical attacks and Good
resistance to heat and cold.

REPULSOR RAYS: Simmilar to Iron Man's, The Avenger uses two palm-located
repulsor ray projectors. These fire Amazing rank Force beams up to a 10 area
range.

INFRAVISION: Due to a unique radiation he contracted during his journey into
this dimension, Jerry can see in toal darkness with Amazing rank. This even
applies to such powers as the darkforce.

ENERGY ABSORBTION: Up to 100 points of electrical energy damage may be
absorbed and stored for up to 2 rounds, or the energy can be redirected
through the exo-skeleton, thus raising strength to Incredible for 2 rounds.
It may also be redirected through the repulsor rays, raising their rank to
Monsterous Force damage. Retaining such energy beyond 2 rounds requires an
endurance FEAT, or there is an involuntary discharge, inflicting Excellent
damage to all within 1 area of him (including The Avenger, whose body armor
is ignored in this case).

BELT-FLASHLIGHT: Located in The Avenger's belt-buckle, this is an ordinary
flashlight (2 area range, Typical intensity light).

TALENTS: The Avenger has been taught Martial Arts A by Captain America. He
also has the Computers and Detective talents. During the formation of The
Memphis Avengers, Jerry learned the Leadership talent.

CONTACTS: Jerry is a former member of the East Coast Avengers. He is
accquainted with Spider-Man and once helped The Defenders out on a occasion.
He is also the current team leader and chairman of The Memphis Avengers.

BACKGROUND: Jerry came from another dimension where this dimensions events
(the Marvel Universe) are depicted as comic books. Jerry was shopping one
day when a mysterious "black hole" appeared in the air near him and sucked
him inside it, closing so quickly that no one even notocied he had vanished.
Arriving in this dimension, Jerry made his way to the Avengers Mantion,
where he told his tale to The beast and Iron Man. Before anything could be
done, The threewere attacked by the olympian Typhon, who took Jerry hostage
and forced Iron Man and The Beast to battle Hercules and his then teamates,
The Black Widow and Iceman. Jerry managed to trick Typhon into freeing him
by confronting him with tales of his origins (being a avid collector of
comics, Jerry knew the events and history of this dimension). He then aided
the other heros in capturing Typhon.
Following an examination by Reed Richards (who declared that here was no way
known to send Jerry home), Iron Man took him to Stark Industries and used
its computer facilities to establish a history and cover identity for him.
He also provided Jerry with his Exo-Skeleton and Repulsor Rays, so as to
allow him to defend himself, if need be (Jerry practically blackmailing Iron
Man with revealing his identity also gave him reason to do this). Jerry used
the skeleton to establish a costumed identity for himself called The Avenger
and became a guest of the team. 
Shortly after a major renovation of the The Avengers, Jerry was forced out
of the group and Mantion. He teamed with Spider-Man to battle The
Taskmaster, and then aided The Defenders for a brief period, re-uniting him
with old teammates The Beast and Wonder Man. Jerry then re-located to his
hometown of Memphis, Tennessee to work in the Stark International franchise
based there.
He remained semi-active in his costumed identity until being contacted by
The Wasp, who wanted Jerry to establish a franchise of The Avengers to be
based in Memphis. Jerry accepted The Wasp's offer and has been with the
group ever since. He was elected team leader of the group due to his ability
to organize and lead them in battle, something that seemed to come
natuarally to him. 
Jerry holds the standards of The Avengers in high regards, so much so that
when it was thought that a LMD of The Taskmaster Jerry fought during his
team's inception was thought to be the real person and not deactivted but
accidently killed by Jerry, he volutarilly resigned from the group and
turned himself over to authorities, only to be later cleared of any
wrongdoing. It is because of the high-standard that the AEF Memphis division
continues to be a viable branch of The Avengers.

BODY ARMOR: Ms. Marvel has Typical protection from physical damage.

SPEED: Ms. Marvel can move 3 area/round for an hour before suffering the
effects of exhaustion.

TALENTS: Ms. Marvel has the Martial Arts A, B, D, and E talents, and is
skilled as a stuntwoman, scuba diver, and motorcycle daredevil.

CONTACTS: Ms. Marvel tends to be a loner. She retains good contacts with
somemembers of the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation, though the
organization itself (Power Broker, in particular) is a sworm enemy. Sharon
also has the freindship of Ben Grimm (the Thing), who in the past had a
crush on her. Sharon is also a member in godd standing of The Memphis Avengers.

BACKGROUND: Sharon Ventura is a woman driven to be the best in whatever she
attempts. The only daughter of a U.S. army officer, she was continually
driven to live up to his high expectation and was cruelly rejected when she
failed. Sharon and her father finnally split-up when she was expelled from a
military academy for refusing to tesify against a fellow classmate. Sharon
and her father never reconciled, and General Ventura died of a heart attack
a year later.
Following the death of her father, Sharon began to seek out dangerous sports
and occupations seeking to master them and, in doing so, prover her own
worth. She soon developed a reputation as a scuba diver, motorcycle
performer, mountain climber, and stuntwoman. When Ben Grimm encountered
Sharon, he fell in love with her immeadeately. Sharon did not return his
affections in the same degree, however. Sharon and Ben drifted into the
Ulimited Class Wrestling Frederation, a sports group which featured matches
between super-powered individuals. Sharon was approached by members of the
Power Broker who- through renegade scientist, Karl Malus- was augumenting a
number of individuals for both private and professional gains.
Sharon underwent part of the treatment process, but feeling that the
artificial enhancement was cheating, escaped before the full treatment was
applied. Now enhanced by Malus' system, sharon took the stage name of Ms.
Marvel and joined the UCWF's female contingent. The Power Broker sent his
own agents to retrieve her and finish the augmentation process, and sharon
was finally captured after several attempts and returned to Malus' lab.
Sharaon was soon rescued by The Thing and Captain America and escaped Power
Broker's clutches.
Sharon retired her Ms. Marvel identity and joined a touring group of
daredevil motorcyclists called the Thunderiders. The Thunderiders were
having a performance in Memphis, Tennessee when Sharon learned of the
tryouts being held there for an experimental avengers franchise. Curious and
eager for the competition, Sharon resumed her costumed identity and attended
the tryouts. She was invited to join and accepted, haviong reamained in the
group ever since.

BODY ARMOR: Captain Dynamite's steel-like skin provides Incredible
protection from all forms of damage, including physical and energy damage.

LIFE SUPPORT: Captain Dynamite does not require food, water, or even air to
survive and is considered to have Class 1000 life support for this reason.

POWER BLASTS: Captain Dynamite can emit blasts of Force from his hands. They
have a 10 area range and cause Amazing damage.

TALENTS: None.

CONTACTS: Captain Dynamite has virtually no contacts outside of his
teamates, The Memphis Avengers, being an outcast and a loner for most of his
life.

BACKGROUND: Will Bronson has always been a drifter and down-and-out on life.
His best friend Mark Colter was areserarch plant physist at a nuclear power
plant and got Will a job there as a janitor. Late one evening, Mark was
conducting an experiment in cold fusion while Will was cleaning up the lab.
Will accidently distracted Mark at a crucial moment in the experiment,
resulting in a nuclear fission reaction that completely destroyed the
facility. Will wandering out of the ruins, unclothed and suffering from
amnesia. He was taken into custody but was cleared of any wrongdoing in the
accident. During custody, Will learned of his identity and what happened to
Mark.
Drifting from town to town, Will soon discovered that his body's insides had
been transformed into pure nuclear energy. He discovered he was superhumanly
strong, practically invulnerable could emit his body's energy as power
blasts. He could also survive without food and water, which did little to
give him a purpose in his drifter life. 
Arriving in Memphis, Tennesse, Will managed to get a job as help in a local
costume shop. He learned of the Avenger Experimental Franchise tryouts being
set up here in Memphis. He used his first and only paycheck to buy a bunch
of costumes and used them to make himself a super-hero costume. Calling
himself Captain Dynamite, Will was accepted into The Memphis Avengers and
serves as that team's strongman.

GENERATE FLAME: SunMaster can turn all solar energy in his body's stores
into flame. He can generate Monsterous intensity flame without difficulty.
He can shoot this flame from his hands up to 5 areas away.

CONTROL FIRE: SunMaster has Monsterous control over fire and can perform a
number of power stunts using this ability, including absorbing heat and
flame, and producing flaming cages and images.

RESISTANCE TO FIRE: SunMaster has Monsterous resistance to heat and flame.

TALENTS: SunMaster is a former astronaut and has the Pilot talent. He also
possesses the Aireal Combat and Resist Domination talents.

BACKGROUND: Jim Coreb was a former air force pilot who was accpted into the
space shuttle program. Onboard the shuttle during a mission, Coreb was on a
spacewalk outside the shuttle when he was hit by a solar flare. Although he
should have been instantly killed, Coreb somehow surivived the flare. Upon
returning to Earth, Jim discovered his body stored all sunlight and he could
convert that solar energy into flame.
He was discharged from the space program following this and traveled top
Memphis, Tennessee to join his freind in his private aircraft charter
service. One day the two's plane was stolen by an someone who had only
recently become a pilot. Soon introuble over the skies, Coreb donned a ski
mask to protect his identity and then used his powers to retrieve the stolen
plane. He then fashioned himself a costume and began to battle crime. When
he heard that the avengers were holding tryouts for a experimental franchise
of the group to be ased in Memphis, Coreb attended the tryouts, calling
himself SunMaster. He was soon accepted into the team and has remained a
member ever since.

BODY ARMOR: Machine Man's skin is made of a titanium alloy that gives him
Amazing protection from heat. cold, and physical damage.

ANTIGRAVITY GENERATORS: Machine Man has several built-in antigravity
generators, allowing him to render himself weightless, and giving him the
ability to fly at Feeble speed (2 areas/round).

EXTENDABLE LIMBS: Machine Man can extend his arms and legs out to a maximum
of 3 areas away. Within this radius, he can engage in close combat and
handle objects without a FEAT roll. He can step over structures up to three
stories tall and, by extending both arms and legs, can climb surfaces at a
rate of 5 areas per round. It should be noted that the further Machine Man
extends his limbs, the less strength he has in them. When his limbs are
extended 1 area, his strength is normal ; 2 areas away, his strength becomes
Excellent ; and at full extention (3 areas), it is only Good.

ENVIRONMENTAL INDEPENDANCE: Machine Man does not need to eat, drink,
breathe, or sleep. He could easily survive in outer space or other vacuum
environment.

HEATING/COOLING SYSTEMS: Machine Man is able to use his internal temperature
control system to radiate great amounts of heat or cold through his hands.
He can do this with Remarkable ability (causing Remarkable rank damage), and
can affect a maximum radius of 3 areas around his hands.

ELECTRICITY: Machine Man can also generate electricity in his hands with
internal systems, causing Incredible damage to grounded opponents that he
touches (Fighting FEAT) and Good damage to non-grounded foes. In addition,
those so attacked must make an Endurance FEAT roll against the intensity of
the electricty or pass out for 1-10 turns.

POWER SOURCE: Machine Man is powered by a network of solar receptors
positioned at various points on his body. Because of this, if he is kept in
total darkness for more than 40 hours, he will lose -3 Endurance ranks each
hour thereafter If he is not exposed to light before his Endurance to
Feeble, he will shut down (i.e., go unconscious) from a lack of power. He
will remain in the state until he is exposed to light once more, whereupon
he regains Endurance ranks at a rank of one rank per round.

PROTECTED SENSES: Machine Man eyes provide him with Remarkable protection
against blinding lights.

HAND SENSORS: Located in his left hand, Machine Man has "life" detectors
(measuring heat and pinpointing heat sources in a three area range), and
exotic energy detectors capable of detecting odd or unusual radition with a
10-area range.

TALENTS: Machine Man has the Computers, Electronics, and Repair/Tinkering
talents.

BACKGROUND: Machine Man was created by a top-secret U.S. military project,
whose goal was to create robot soldiers capable of independant thought. One
of the 51 original prototypes, he was placed in the custody of Dr. Abel
Stack, a brilliant computer specialist who believed that man and robot could
co-exist in harmony. Stack taught the robot, whom he named Aaron, as if it
were his own son. Under Stack's guidence, Aaron developed his own individual
personality.
At the same time the other 50 robots began to develop serious malfunctions
in their programming. An executive decision was made to terminate the
project and destroy the robots before they could become dangerous. The
destruct order allowed no exceptions; Within hours, Aaron would be destroyed
by an explosive device built into him he was assembled.
Fortunately, Stack was able to remove the bomb although he could not
deactivate it. Knowing this, Stack said a brief farewell to his "son" and
sent Aaron away. Minutes later, the device detonated, killing Stack instantly.
Now on his own, Aaron began a crimefighting carrer as Machine Man is an
attempt to gfind his place in the world of humanity. During this time he was
befreind by several humans, most notably psychologist Peter Spaulding and
"Gears" Garvin, a mechanic. Machine Man tangled with many foes as well,
including the opertunistic senator Miles Brickman and Madame Menace (alias
Sunset Bain), an arms merchant who wanted to mass produce robots copied from
Aaron's circutry. 
Then Machine Man met Jocasta, aformer Avenger and fellow robot. During their
brief time together, they discovered a mutual appreciation that might have
led to something much more for them both had she not been destroyed in a
battle with her creator, Ultron. 
A few months later, Garvin,Machine Man, and Spaulding were at Garvin's
Garage, trying to find a way to revive Jocasta's robotic brain, which
Machine Man had recovered following her destruction. While Garvin was away
buying some necessary parts, Bain's agents attacked the garage. In the
resulting melee an explosion was set off, destroying the garage and killing
Spaulding. Machine Man was thought to have been destroyed in the blast and
Bain's agents fled the scene. Garvin returned to find his garage in ruins.
Searching through the rubble, Garvin found the buried and partially damaged
Machine Man. Following repairs by Garvin and wishing to avenge the death of
his freind, Machine Man attacked Bain at her corporate Headquarters at
Baintronics and suceeded in destroying a major portion of her operations.
Bain herself escaped and Jocasta'a brain was never found.
Later, Machine Man was contacted by The Avenger, who wanted him to join the
Memphis-based franchise of the Avengers. Wishing to start life anew and
seeing his joining the team as a tribute to Jocasta's memory, Machine Man
accepted the offer and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. Garvin went with his
freind and serves as the resident "fix-it"man.

KNOWN POWERS
COSTUME: Nova's costume is designed to withstand the rigors of outer space.
Made of an Unearthly material, this costume provides Nova with Remarkable
protection from physical and energy attacks, Amazing protection from heat
and cold, and Monsterous protection from acid and radiation.

HELMET: Nova's helmet is also made of an unknown super-hard alloy. This
helmet contains a visor with a 15 minute air supply, protecting him from
gases. He may still be suprized as his visor takes 1 round to operate. This
helmet contains circutry that intercepts radio transmissions enabling Nova
to recieve radio signals and listen in on them. The helmet also specially
treated lenses enabling Nova to see in total darkness.

FLIGHT: Nova can fly at Remarkable air speed (15 areas/round) in an
apnosphere and can reach Unearthly speeds in outer space.

TALENTS: Nova has the Aireal Combat talent. He also recieves +1 CS when
charging in combat.

BACKGROUND: Richard Ryder was a high school student who was granted the
superpowers of Nova by Rann Dey, the Nova-Prime of Xandar. Dey was dying and
gave Ryder the powers to stop a rampaging alien named Xorr. Dey used the
energy of his life-force to aid Ryder in destroying Xorr. Ryder operated for
several months thereafter as a crimefighter based in New York. Nova and
several others journeyed to Xandar in Dey's starship to defend it from an
attack by the alien Skrulls. Months later, Nova joined forces with the
spacenight Rom to finally defeat the Skrulls. Ancious to return home, Ryder
asked the xandarians to transport him to Earth. The xandarians agreed but
stated that they needed the powers of the Nova-Prime to help rebuild their
war-ravaged civilization. Ryder argued that he had earned the powers, but he
gave them up to return to Earth. Upon his return, Ryder discovered his
personal life in shambles. His family, fearing he had died, had sold the
family home and moved to the midwest. All of Ryder's friends including his
girlfriend had graduated from high school and gone on to college. ryder
traveled to the midwest and was reunited with his family. He then settled to
a normal life and went back to school to get hish  high-school diploma.
About a month after his graduation, Xandar was destroyed by the space
piratess Nebula. In her last dying act, the princess of Xandar activated the
living computers of the planet and returned the powers of the Nova-Prime to
Ryder on Earth. Delighted to have regained his powers, Ryder wanted to
return to an active super-hero life but his family diagreed with him. This
caused a rift between them, forcing Ryder to leave home. Ryder drifted from
various part-time jobs until he was contacted by The Avenger, who offered
Nova a position in The Memphis Avengers. Ryder agred and relocated to
Memphis, Tennessee, where he is currently attenting college at the
University of Memphis and is finally geting on with his life.
