Creepshow is a cool little horror movie that gives you several different stories all in one
movie. Writer Stephen King and director George Romero put their talents together and
bring you these terrifying tales of horror that make you gag, scream, pull the covers over
your head and LAUGH!=)
The movie starts out with a father throwing away his sons comic book-Creepshow beacuse it was nothing but filth. Then after the father throws out the book, the movie turns into the pages right out of the book itself.
Our first story is called Father's day. Its about a murdered father back from the grave for Father's Day cake and a little slice of revenge to go with it. He crawls right out of the ground killing his daughter and then makes his way up the house killing all the other family members! Very gruesome. Also appearing in the film is a pretty young Ed Harris.
The second story is called The Lonesome Death of Gordy Verrill. A crashed meteor
oozing green gunk that gets everything it touches growing, including human flesh! This
little mini horror movie is more funny than anything else. It also has Stephen King has the
main character, back woodsman Gordy who gets down and gritty with nature! A picture
of Stephen as that character can be seen to the right.
The third story is called Something to Tide you Over and is about a diabolical private
small beach party at comfort with a younger Cheers star Ted Danson up to his neck in
terror literally! But I guess he should have known--sleeping with a married woman! Also
starring Leslie Nelson, this one is way creepy-especially when Leslie's character gets
what HE has coming to him!!
The fourth story is called The Crate. Its about a professor who selects his shrew-ish, loud, annoying, bossy wife as a main course meal for a ravenous gorilla/werewolf-like monster! It looks like he'll finally be rid of her as he is always dreaming about. This should be a lesson to all us females out there bossing around our other halves!=)
The fifth and final story is called They're Creeping up on You! This one was the scariest of
them all, at least for me because I am totally bug-a-phobic. Its about a mavolent
millionaire who is like me and hate cockroaches, well his fear of them leads to a nest of
them in his house, and well, inside his body! I swear-I dont even watch that one anymore
it makes me so sick! I simply stop the tape after the 4th story.
Anyways, this is a really cool movie-I can't wait till I can find the sequel!
