Through the help of CDS benefactor Jack Tatay, you can now see an entire brochure that AAP made, touting the AAP cartoon packages.
To faciliate quick loading of the pages, you will not see the entire contents on this page. However, I have put most of the text on here, as well as a few interpretive comments, and a link to each page at the top. To download the jpg of the particular page, right click on the link, and hit Save Target As.
The Cover
337 Warner Bros. Cartoons including all the favorite characters.
Sniffles, Sylvester, Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny, Pepe Le Pew, Tweety, Daffy Duck, and Elmer Fudd.
234 Popeyes in every sort of adventure.
(Argus's Comments: These four pages linked above, showed the characters in the cartoons. Of interest to Popeye fans, is the font used for the word "Popeye". It is the same one used in the television titles.)
RATINGS HAVE BEEN FABULOUS
Ratings for Popeye

In the first 21 markets for which Arbitron ratings are available, Popeye cartoons have averaged an excellent 16.2, against the competition of top network, syndicated, and local programs, and often, of four, five, and six other channels:
Ratings for Bugs Bunny
Ratings for 10 markets are available at press time on the WARNER BROS. cartoons. Here again, the results are outstanding...an average of 15.6. All of these ratings are exception in view of the generally low-sets-in-use, afternoon time periods in which the cartoons generally play.
AND SPONSORS ARE LINING UP TO BUY.
These cartoons are very much in demand with local advertisers in every market in which they play. In addition, more and more blue chip national advertisers are lining up week after week including:

Letters to aap from television stations.
(Argus's Comments: These are letters from television stations throughout the United States to AAP. Of interest, is the address of AAP, and the fact that KTLA was owned at the time, ironically by Paramount Television Productions Inc.)
Promotional tie-in page.
And in addition to the great appeal of the programs, A POWERFUL MERCHANDISING CAMPAIGN to deliver added dividends to stations and to a.a.p. through sales of CARTOON PERSONALITY BY-PRODUCTS licensed for manufacture by KING FEATURES (Popeye) and WARNER BROS. (Bugs Bunny, etc.)
GREAT PROMOTION
PARTICIPATION IN PROFITS
MANY ADDITIONAL "PLUS" VALUES"

(Argus's comments: As you can see, AAP was happy to get their name out. Who knew that they had struck a gold mine in programming. Of course, a few years later, here comes United Artists to buy them out.)
