INTRODUCTION
TO PRANIC HEALING
Pranic healing is an ancient science and art of healing that utilizes
prana or life energy to heal the whole physical body. It also involves the
manipulation of prana and bioplasmic
(energy) matter of the patient’s body.
According to Hindu tradition, prana is life force; the basic constituent
and source of all life and the universe. It is the energy responsible for
keeping the body alive and healthy. This energy is recognized in many other
cultures and known by different names such as Chi in Chinese, Ki in Japanese,
Mana in Polynesian, Pneuma in Greek, and Ruah in Hebrew. The main sources of
prana, available in abundance, are air, sun, earth and the divine. Prana can be
projected to another person for healing.
Pranic healing is based on two fundamental laws:
The law of self-recovery: The body is general has the capacity to heal itself.
The law of life force or prana: For life to exist, the body must have life energy. The healing process
can be accelerated by increasing life energy on the affected part and on the
entire body.
Man’s whole physical body is actually composed of two parts: the visible
physical body and the invisible energy body which enables life energy to
circulate all over the body. The energy body is generally referred to as
the ‘human aura’, the ‘bioplasmic body’ or the ‘etheric twin’
because of its close relationship to the physical body. Through Kirilian
photography it is possible to study, observe and take pictures of aura of
different objects and also to record changes in the physical, emotional or
mental states of a person. A pranic healer, by feeling or scanning the energy
body, can detect the disease in the aura of a patient even before it manifests
itself in the physical body.
Pranic healing essentially involves treating the energy body. By healing
the energy body, the visible physical body gets healed in the process. For
example, by decongesting and energizing the head area, headaches can be removed
in a few minutes.
Pranic healing is accomplished through very simple procedures which are
easy to learn. The first process is cleansing, to remove the devitalized
diseased energy in the whole body or in the affected part and to remove
blockages in the energy channels. The second process is energizing to
replenish and reinvigorate the body with fresh prana or vital energy. This is
done by projecting prana to the patient’s energy body and simultaneously
drawing in air prana from the surroundings with the help of the hand energy
centers (chakras).
When the processes of cleansing and energizing are complete, the
circulation of energy throughout the body is improved and the body’s innate
ability to heal itself is greatly enhanced. Sometimes, just the removal of
energy blockages and imbalances is sufficient to normalize the energy flowing
through the body to the point where the body’s healing process is suddenly
accelerated, producing miraculous recoveries. Pranic healing has been
demonstrably effective not only in healing both physical and psychological
ailments but it can also help prevent illness by harmonizing one’s physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual energies. It strengthens the immune system and
enhances the vitality and quality of one’s life, health and happiness.
Pranic healing uses no drugs or gadgets; it is non-invasive and requires
no physical contact. It can be used for self healing and healing other people
even thousand miles away. It can be effectively combined with any other form of
treatment. For developing countries, where millions of people live in dire poverty
and do not have access to medical care, pranic healing is proving a great
blessing.
