the workplace can be a very tough, back-stabbing world. any of you near my age probably agree with me that when you left college you thought the cliques and petty gossipings were behind you. you were on your way, starting a career. your life would be focused. you didn't think about whether there would be cliques or gossip, because it never entered your mind. you were entering into the grown-up world. those of you who are more experienced know the truth of the matter.
you know how you think if only i reach this goal, my life will be much easier. that was: graduating from high school, graduating from college, getting a job, getting a job you like, getting married, starting a family, buying a house. it didn't get easier. it got harder and harder. the same analogy goes with money. if only i made this much money, then, i would be okay. but your lifestyle changes with your salary and you NEVER make enough. getting a job and getting a job i like are the steps i'm between. right now, i want to get a job i like. and it's not that i don't like my job. it is just extremely temporary. i want some permanence. right now, i am substituting for amherst county and lynchburg city schools. actually, i am in a long-term (six weeks long) substituting position at amherst county high school. i am enjoying it very much. i just don't know what this summer and next year are going to hold.
i'm hoping to get a job in a high school teaching math or business classes for next year. i would like the job to be in one of surrounding counties preferably amherst. i'll just have to wait and see.
so...what is the point of all this? at this moment, i'm not stressed with the actual work but the finding a place in the world. the only tip i have at the moment is BE HAPPY WITH WHERE YOU ARE PRESENTLY. don't think in the next stage i will finally be happy. find happiness within yourself. believe, this is a daily struggle with me but i know it's true. and of course, don't misconstrue this to mean don't go out there and look for something to make you happier because there is nothing wrong with that. i don't have a lot of advice to give because obviously i can't advise myself right now. please email me and let me know your tips for work relief. i will post them reguarly.
