WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Honda stepped off the stage, leaving his opponent on the mat in a bloodied, heaped mess. Yokobue had cringed right through the whole fight at the amount of pain the powerful Honda had inflicted on the helpless soul. Kazu-no-Miya had barely ever taken her hands away from her eyes during this fight, so Honda had been left without a referee, and had gone into a slight trance. He loved the thrill of the fight, but it was something else that had made him so relentless, so brutal, so... evil. The balance of good and evil on the stage had been disturbed by the previous fights and Honda had only stopped once he heard Date start to laugh. He realised what he was doing and stumbled back, then turned and left the stage.
The following two matches had also been very brutal. The stage had been plagued with unnecessary excessive violence all night. Kyanda had almost killed Shiyori with a shot to his nose and Ryu had kept kicking Yusuke even after he had colapsed and become unconscious. Some of the on-guard soldiers in the fortress had to be called in to stop the enraged man, and drag him offstage. Normally he would be disqualified, but everyone had been excessive in this tournament, even peaceful men such as Honda had become almost evil... as if the stage had possessed them. Everything had happened since Date had been on the stage. The tournament rules had been thrown out and these men appeared to be fighting to the death.
To add to the confusion, the next fight was between Tomoe and Yu, and she was nowhere to be found - almost like she had disappeared. Kazu-no-Miya had had enough. "If Tomoe Gozen Does not present herself in one minute, she is disqualified from the tournament!" she announced to the crowd, then turned to Yokobue, who nodded once in agreement. The countdown in the crowd begun. Everyone sat around waiting and then someone in the crowd yelled out "10", and they all turned to see who it was. It was Date with a big grin stretched from ear to ear. "9... 8...." He started to laugh when the crowd counted down with him. "7... 6... 5..."
The crowd was interrupted by a "WAIT!" and again they all turned to see Tomoe running down the cobbled path from the castle. "I just went for... a walk." She leant on her knees trying to catch her breath. Then she stammered up the stage, exhausted, raised her hands and prepared to fight the well rested Yu. A betting man would never side with the weary legged looking Tomoe.
