Episode 31- Troubled Ripples

    Upon their arrival at Hokkan country, the group splits up to gather more clues about the whereabouts of the shinzaho. Tamahome, Miaka, and Nuriko discovers a huge stone tablet  with ancient writings carved on it. Further investigations prove that the writings should reveal some information with regards to the shinzaho. However, only a few can decipher what the ancient writing means. Fortunately, the three are able to find a village elder who knows the meaning of the words etched on the stone tablet.

Episode 32- To Die for the Star of Suzaku

    While looking for Tamahome, Miaka and Nuriko are ambushed by Ashitare, one of the Seiryuu shichiseishi. Nuriko is able to grab a firework which he throws at Ashitare's face. Afterwards, Ashitare returns to their camp and gets whipped by Nakago. Vengeful, Ashitare follows Nuriko towards the Black Mountain.

Episode 33- Farewell, Nuriko

    At the top of the Black Mountain, Ashitare and Nuriko engages in a battle. Nuriko is able to defeat Ashitare, but manages to acquire fatal injuries to himself. With the last of his strength, he lifts the huge rock blocking the entrance to the shrine. Nuriko falls on the ground with Miaka and the others arriving too late.

Episode 34- The Priestess of Genbu

    The group enters the shrine and are confronted by the ghosts of Hikitsu and Tomite, both are star warriors of Genbu. The two are no longer vulnerable to physical damage. The only other way by which the group can retrieve the sacred relic is by having Miaka undergo a test. Miaka agrees and she is encased in a huge ice crystal.

Episode 35- Mirage in Hell

    With the help of Nuriko's bracelets, Miaka is able to overcome the test. As a reward, they are able to gain the shinzaho. However, the relic is stolen from them by Ashitare who turned into a wolf.  Taking Nuriko's efforts into consideration, Miaka decides to venture into Seiryuu camp. On the way, Miaka encountered Tomo, also one of the Seiryuu star warriors. Tomo, disguised as Taitsukun, advised Miaka to unite with Nakago in order to lower his chi thereby increasing her chance of retrieving the shinzaho. Miaka, believing that what she has heard is true, enters the enemy's camp and falls into Nakago's trap.
