DARK
CIRCLES
Dark circles are caused by the lack of circulation under
the eyes. This may be a genetic problem. It seems to run
in families. You can use an eyecream that increases the
circulation in that area. Guinot has an eye gel that seems
to be helpful.

BLACKHEADS
The bad news is: there is no permanent way of getting rid
of blackheads on the nose. The way to control it is to
mask faithfully and use a product that contains salicylic
acid and glycolic acid in combination. The other
alternative is to have monthly facials and have an
esthetician remove them for you.

EYE AREA &
CREAMS
Most creams should not be used around the eyes - mainly
because of the danger of getting it in the eye and causing
a reaction. The eyes are very sensitive and more apt to
flare up if there is a foreign object in the eye. A cream
would be considered a "foreign substance." It is best if
eye creams are used around the eyes, at no time however,
should it be used near the lower and upper lashes.
|
SENSITIVE
SKIN
Above all , do not use harsh cleansers - do not use
very hot or very cold water on your face. Everything you
use on your skin should be for sensitive skin. The
capillaries on your cheeks are sensitive to your internal
body temperature - avoid anything that will increase that
circulation - spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol etc.

HOW TO
REDUCE PORE SIZE?
Distended pores are a result of dehydration and genetics.
You need to take extremely good care of your skin in order
to refine the pores. I suggest a facial every 3 months and
a good skincare regime. There are products that contain
DNA that can help refine the skin - but it will not be
accomplished overnight. See your local esthetician for
advice.

MINERAL
OIL AND ALCOHOL?
For years, the French, who are the leaders in skincare
have used mineral oil - fine grade mineral oil in their
skincare products. There is no evidence that mineral oil
clogs pores. A study was done years ago by a Dermatologist
who used pure, not refined, mineral oil on the ears of
rabbits and it clogged their pores. The study was flawed
and he admits it - but unfortunately, the word about
mineral oil being clogging got around. I agree with the
alcohol being too drying. I have seen alcohol used in
products but not as the main ingredient - but as a
preservative in some products.

INEXPENSIVE WAYS TO EXFOLIATE
The least expensive invention is the buf puf made by 3M.
You can buy this in any drugstore. This would help with
getting rid of dead cells. Dead cells clog pores and cause
scars to last longer. As for lightening your skin, there
is no simple solution.
|
CAN YOU
STOP FROM BLUSHING?
Blushing occurs when you are nervous - so in order to
control it, you have to overcome or avoid situations that
cause your nervousness. There is nothing in the cosmetic
market that would help you with this problem.

I HAVE EXTREMELY OILY SKIN AND WEARING
FOUNDATION SEEMS TO MAKE IT WORSE?
Oily skin
presents several dilemmas when it comes to make up. First
of all, powder is necessary because it absorbs oil. Next,
you need an oil blotting cream under your foundation to
absorb oil. I suggest you not re-powder you skin when it
shines. Use oil blotting papers to absorb the oil |
WHAT IS
THE BEST WAY TO KEEP EYE MAKEUP LOOKING FRESH ALL DAY?
You need to use an eyeshadow base on your eyelids. You can
also try powdering your pencil line with a little
translucent powder.
|
MY CHEEKS
ARE CONSTANTLY RED AND VEINS ARE VISIBLE AS WELL. WHAT IS
IT AND WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?
What you describe is called couperose skin. You need to
avoid anything that is hot - food, showers etc. You have
what is categorized in skin talk as sensitive skin.
Sensitive to the environment and foods that you consume.
There are products on the market that do address your skin
type.
|
WHAT CAN I
DO ABOUT THESE UNDER-SKIN PIMPLES? I'VE HAD THEM FOR TWO
WEEKS NOW?
What you have is called milia. They need to be
extracted either by an esthetician or by a dermatologist. |
WHAT IS
THE BEST MASK FOR ROSACEA?
The best masks for Rosacea are the masks that are made for
sensitive skin. You have to be sure the label says for
sensitive skin. The best product line on the market for
rosacea is made by Pevonia. |
WHAT KIND
OF MAKE UP CAN I USE TO HIDE THE RED MASK CAUSED BY
ROSACEA?
You may need a foundation made by a company called
Dermablend or Le Clerc. Both these products conceal very
well. |
DO YOU DO
DERMABRASION?
Yes, we do microdermabrasion. On the website it is called
the Parisian Peel.
The cost is $100. 00 per treatment.

MY SKIN IS
VERY DRY AND I AM STARTING TO NOTICE CROWS FEET AND LOOSE
SKIN ABOVE MY EYELIDS - WHAT CAN I DO?
I would start with a consultation on what could be
done about your eyes. You definetely need an eyecream and
perhaps this can help diminish the crows feet. As for the
eyelids, that may be a problem that doesn't have an easy
solution. The best thing to do is to come in and see us
and one of our estheticians can help advise you.

I HAVE
DROOPY SKIN DUE TO WEIGHT LOSS ON MY FACE - HOW CAN I FIRM
IT UP? WOULD A FACIAL MASSAGER WORK?
The facial massager would be harmless to use. It will help
with the circulation. Your skin may recover and firm up in
time. Keep it moisturized and well cared for - you would
be amazed at what your skin can recover. |
I HAVE
THREE RED SKIN BLOTCHES ON MY FOREHEAD, CHEEKS AND THE
BASE OF MY THROAT - MAY BE CAUSED BY CHILDBIRTH OR THE SUN
- HELP!
Your skin is easily irritated by environmental factors.
Avoid hot or cold water on the face and neck. I would
watch my intake of spicy food and alcohol. Sun will
increase the redness also. You need treatment products
that will help the circulation of the capillaries on your
face. The areas that are red are caused by sluggish
circulation in the capillaries. The French have products
in their skincare line that help with that problem. Look
for Pier Auge, or Rene Guinot. They both have products to
help the capillaries.

MY SKIN
HAS BEEN GETTING DARKER AND BREAKING OUT - I'VE ALWAYS HAD
NICE SKIN-HELP!
If you are starting to hyperpigment, you need to see
someone in your area that deals in skincare and get on a
regime for skin that hyperpigments. You will not help the
condition with soap and water. If your skin is dried out
your scars will appear darker and your skin will breakout.
You need to seek some good skincare products.
|
MY SKIN IS
ALWAYS VERY RED. HOW CAN I CORRECT IT OR COVER IT UP?
Believe it or not, there are products on the market that
will help your skin and its circulation. You are probably
very fair. Hot, Cold, anything that you eat or drink that
causes your circulation to increase will cause your skin
to turn red.You should look for products that are designed
for redness in the skin - they are mainly found in the
French skincare lines. |
HOW CAN I
BLEND MY BLUSH AND EYESHADOW BETTER? I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT
IT JUST LOOKS LIKE TOO MUCH.
The best way to blend your eyeshadow is to use a brush
made for the eyes called a fluff brush. Do not use the
applicator with the sponge tip - they apply color too
heavily. You should blend your blush the same way - use a
big, fluffy powder brush to blend. |
MY FACE IS
VERY DRY AND DEHYDRATED - HOW CAN I GET A HEALTHY GLOW?
There are a lot of things you can do to remedy dry,
lifeless skin. The first would be to have a facial - if
that is not a possibility, I suggest you exfoliate with an
exfoliant, then use a mask for dry skin and then apply a
moisturizer that contains shea butter and vitamins. The
lines that are the best are usually from France. I highly
recommend the French lines because they are the leaders in
skincare. |
I HAVE
INGROWN HAIRS IN THE UNIBROW AREA WHICH RESULT IN SCARRING
AND HOW CAN I GET RID OF SHINE IN THE T-ZONE
You need to use a product called Tendskin for the
ingrown hairs. For the oily T zone, there are products
that will help keep the area matte. Payot makes a good
cream called creme matifiante. |
