Going Going Guam
source: Complete Rolling Thunder rehearsals
an excellent reissue of this set from whitebear in full silkscreen color picture discs.

Review and info taken from Bobsboots:
This is serious stuff from the label that delivered the first issue of 'A Tree with Roots'. White Bear proves themselves once again by releasing this powerful set that properly edits together all of the known recorded rehearsals for the Rolling Thunder Revue tour. These were taken directly from the practice session soundboards. Unless you are in a small circle of tape collectors, you will not have heard some of the tracks collected on this four CD set. The enclosed four page booklet tells the story of the events from a direct witness to them, and it mounds flesh onto the bones of rumor. There are some incredible moments here, such as the last ever outing of Sara, and stunning versions of One More Cup of Coffee (1/23 & 4/15). Once again, the packaging is beautifully thought out. A handsome profile of Bob on the front; a shadowy figure on the back track title page, and to top it all; a folded poster backed by the Neil Hickey interview. Well done, White Bear. This is a not to be missed chapter of the history of music.

NOTES:
Disc one:
The instruments are nicely recorded in the first
five tracks. They have a studio sound. However, the vocals are far too buried.
The vocals improve on the remaining tracks, but the music isn't as well
represented.
Disc two:
Overall the sound is a little better here than
disc one. Mainly because the vocals are higher in the mix. In Idiot Wind, Bob
sings "She inherited a million ducks"
Disc three:
The entire revue has now arrived at Clearwater,
and this is the best sound and mix so far. It's arguably the best overall
sounding disc in this set. Includes the rarely heard Seven Days.
Disc four:
The fourth disc contains a couple highlights of
the set, but some of the worst sound quality vocals as well. The Bellevue tape
sound is great for the percussion, but the vocals are barely heard. On the first
track, vocals overpower everything. The Shangri-La songs are a fascinating look
at friends getting together for a jam. Seven Days is the demo version given to
Ron Wood.
(a/p) Cuts in or
out. Only a small portion of song recorded
(bd) Distorted due
to bass overdriving the original tape deck
(n/l) Not listed on
the cover
(sc) Song cuts in

(vb) Vocals
completely buried and barely audible
(vm) Vocals muffled
0Well
performed and recorded. A tape highlight.
