DISPROVING THE CLAIMS THAT THE BIBLE FORETELLS ADVANCED IN SCIENCE

 

Bible Statements Consistent With Paleontology?

·   Dinosaurs are in the bible? They want to say the book of Job describes two dinosaurs. One is described in chapter 40 starting at verse 15 (Behemoth), and the other in chapter 41 starting at verse 1 (Leviathan). Look again in the verses chapter 40:24- 41:1 and you will see they run together and actually behemoth and leviathan describe the same creature: “ 40:24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares. 41:1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?”  It is clear the subject runs into the next chapter and is talking about the same thing.

 

What they don’t want you to see is: 

Job 41:19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. 31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. 32 He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.

Psalm 74:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

Psalm 104:26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

Isaiah 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

 

Conclusion: So in reality what we have here is a fire breathing dragon/sea serpent. Or better yet, an exaggerated view of a crocodile. You decide. I rather liked the dragon idea myself. Sounds more magical. Rather like a Puff the Magic Dragon tale.

 

 Bible Statements Consistent With Astronomy?

·           The Bible frequently refers to the great number of stars in the heavens. Here are two examples.

Genesis 22:17 Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

Jeremiah 33:22 “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.”

Even today, scientists admit that they do not know how many stars there are. Only about 3,000 can be seen with the naked eye. We have seen estimates of 1021 stars—which is a lot of stars. As scientists discover more stars, wouldn’t it be interesting to discover that these two numbers match? 

 

Conclusion: If you believe what I just said then I have a bridge for sale. Lets look at the realistic picture. Who are we dealing with at the time of bible writings? Uneducated people of the past, I hate to say so, but it is true. These are the people that any number greater than what they could count on both hands was an infinity. In other words, they looked at the sand and said, “Wow, a lot.” then they looked at the stars and said, “Wow, a lot.” and gather the similarity. By saying they were more scientific than that is grasping for the stars (a pun).

 

·           The Bible also says that each star is unique.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

All stars look alike to the naked eye. Even when seen through a telescope, they seem to be just points of light. However, analysis of their light spectra reveals that each is unique and different from all others.(Note: We understand that people can perceive some slight difference in color and apparent brightness when looking at stars with the naked eye, but we would not expect a person living in the first century A.D. to claim they differ from one another.)

Conclusion: Once again, did you just fall for that? Or are you catching the flaws? For one thing if people didn’t notice any difference in the stars how did they distinguish the north star from the others? There are such things as twin stars. And if you look again at the verse they didn’t seem to even know our sun is a star itself. If you look at the whole bible you will never see the sun being called a star.

 

·           The Bible describes the precision of movement in the universe.

Jeremiah 31:35,36 Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The LORD of hosts is His name): “If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the LORD, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.”

 

What they don’t want you to see:

Job 9:7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars. (The Sun orbits the Earth in this verse, or else he would have commanded the Earth to stop moving so the Sun would not rise).

 

·           The Bible describes the suspension of the Earth in space.

Job 26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.

 

What they don’t want you to see:

Psalm 93:1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. (The Earth does not move).

 

Job 9:6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. (The Earth sits on pillars).

 

Conclusion: The Earth does not “hang” as if on an invisible string.

 

 Bible Statements Consistent With Meteorology?

·           The Bible describes the circulation of the atmosphere.

Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit.

 

Conclusion: Wow, maybe they got this one right out of the hundreds of things in the bible that are wrong. Good guess. Unless I can come something later.

 

·           The Bible includes some principles of fluid dynamics.

Job 28:25 To establish a weight for the wind, And apportion the waters by measure.

 

Conclusion: The fact here is that Christians just don’t think of how people thought back then, and give them more credit that they deserve. They want to say that the idea of air having weight was only found out about 300 years ago.  So the bible is a miracle of science. Let’s analyze this by how they thought back then. Wind has ‘force’ so the wind must have some measure of weight behind it. (That is the idea at the time, not that the air itself had weight, notice they used the word ‘wind’ and not ‘air’).

 

 Bible Statements Consistent With Biology?

·           The book of Leviticus (written prior to 1400 BC) describes the value of blood.

Leviticus 17:11 ‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

The blood carries water and nourishment to every cell, maintains the body’s temperature, and removes the waste material of the body’s cells. The blood also carries oxygen from the lungs throughout the body. In 1616, William Harvey discovered that blood circulation is the key factor in physical life—confirming what the Bible revealed 3,000 years earlier.

 

Conclusion: They thought blood itself was the only thing keeping people alive. This is a falsehood. Also they thought the blood was connected with the soul. Once again they are giving them more credit than they deserve. It doesn’t take an educated person to see an animal or human die by bleeding and think the loss of blood killed him. The bible doesn’t say anything about nutrients in the blood, just that it creates life by some kind of God miracle. In other words they thought blood was some kind of magic potion of life.

 

·           The Bible describes biogenesis (the development of living organisms from other living organisms) and the stability of each kind of living organism.

Genesis 1:11,12 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

 

Conclusion: Any farmer before the written bible knew this.

 

Genesis 1:21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

&

Genesis 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

The phrase “according to its kind” occurs repeatedly, stressing the reproductive integrity of each kind of animal and plant. Today we know this occurs because all of these reproductive systems are programmed by their genetic codes.

 

Conclusion: Bats are not winged birds. And if they are saying ‘evolution’ they are only stabbing themselves in the back since Genesis states all ‘kinds’ were created during the first week (no need for evolution then) and for those that try to say the bible says ‘kinds’ was not the same as ‘species’ (for macro evolutionists). Genesis 1: 25 states: “..and cattle after their kind...” . How many kinds of cattle are there? Thus ‘species’ of cattle, thus ‘kinds’ = ‘species’. And FYI man from ape would be macro evolution. As a mammoth is to an elephant. And as far as genetic coding, it also changes in species during evolutionary timelines.

 

·           The Bible describes the chemical nature of flesh.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

 

Conclusion: Man did not just emerge from dust, we evolved from other forms of life.

 

Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.

 

Conclusion: They has all come from the idea long ago that God molded man as if by clay. They got the idea from seeing potters create statues:

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

 

·           It is a proven fact that a person’s mental and spiritual health is strongly correlated with physical health. The Bible revealed this to us with these statements (and others) written by King Solomon about 950 BC.

Proverbs 12:4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 14:30 A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones.

Proverbs 15:30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

 

Conclusion: Other cultures with and without religion have known about the benefits of mental health beforehand. Doesn’t take an Einstein to know being happy gives you a boost in your step.

 

 Bible Statements Consistent With Anthropology?

·           We have cave paintings and other evidence that people inhabited caves. The Bible also describes cave men.

Job 30:5,6 They were driven out from among men, They shouted at them as at a thief. They had to live in the clefts of the valleys, In caves of the earth and the rocks.

 

Conclusion: Note that these were not ape-men, but descendants of those who scattered from Babel in the bible. This really doesn’t prove anything since there are even people today that live in caves.

 

Bible statements Consistent With Hydrology?

·           The bible includes reasonably complete descriptions of the hydrologic cycle.

Psalm 135:7 He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.

Jeremiah 10:13 When He utters His voice, There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

Job 36:27-29 For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man. Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His canopy?

This simple verse has remarkable scientific insight. The drops of water which eventually pour down as rain first become vapor and then condense to tiny liquid water droplets in the clouds. These finally coalesce into drops large enough to overcome the updrafts that suspend them in the air.

 

Conclusion: Funny how they try to make the bible sound so scientific but the verses say the earth has ends. Many cultures knew of this process. Around 500 B.C. the Egyptians and Indians made ice on cold nights by setting water out in earthenware pots and keeping the pots wet. This process used evaporation and condensation. Imagine that, they invented refrigeration.

 

·           The Bible describes the recirculation of water.

Ecclesiastes 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.

Conclusion: They once thought the waters ran uphill underground and formed springs where the water came from.

 

Isaiah 55:10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,

 

Conclusion: Now they say the water doesn’t return to the sky? This one conflicts with evaporation, since the water does go back to the sky where it came from.

 

·           The Bible refers to the surprising amount of water that can be held as condensation in clouds.

Job 26:8 He binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it.

&

Job 37:11 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds.

 

Conclusion: They think the clouds are a holding tank. Not that the clouds are made of water. Maybe similar to absorbent cotton.

 

 

·            Hydrothermal vents are described in two books of the Bible written before 1400BC—more than 3,000 years before their discovery by science.

Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

&

Job 38:16 Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths?

 

Conclusion: They were never talking about thermal vents. They actually thought that there were water fountains that brought forth sea water and that rain comes from heaven. As for the springs of the sea, they actually thought the sea had springs making the waves or rather a metaphor.

 

 Bible Statements Consistent With Geology?

·           The Bible describes the Earth’s crust (along with a comment on astronomy).

Jeremiah 31:37 Thus says the LORD: “If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the LORD.”

 

Conclusion: The foundation of the earth doesn’t mean the crust. They once thought God built the earth like a building with a foundation and pillars:

Job 9:6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

 

·           The Bible described the shape of the earth centuries before people thought that the earth was spherical.

Isaiah 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

 

Conclusion: This one sounds a little tricky if you don’t know how to deal with it. First of all the other verses in the bible refer to spherical as ‘round’:

Exodus 16:14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. 15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread (the round object was bread, a 3-dimensional object) which the LORD hath given you to eat.
    Now let’s look at the meaning of the word ‘circle‘:

The word translated “circle” here is the Hebrew word chuwg which is also translated “circuit,” or “compass”. That is, it indicates something that is flat. Thus the meaning of ‘circle’ would be ‘compass’ or as to circle one’s house (border). So in reality it suggests that God sits above the ‘border’ of the earth.

 

What the don’t want you to see:

Isaiah 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Acts 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

Deuteronomy 13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

Job 38:13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

And there are so many other flat Earth verses. Verses of being able to see the whole earth from one spot, etc.

 

 Bible Statements Consistent With Physics?

·           The Bible suggests the presence of nuclear processes like those we associate with nuclear weaponry. Or that is what they want you to think.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

 

Conclusion: They clearly were not talking about nuclear elements. You don’t ‘melt’ elements. They were simply talking about the basic elements they believed in back at that time and era (earth, fire, air, and water).

 

·           The television is a practical (if not always worthwhile) device that uses electromagnetic waves (which transmit its video signal). Christians want you to think the Bible contains passages that describe something like television—something that allows everyone on earth see a single event.

 Matthew 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Revelation 11:9-11 Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.

 

Conclusion: So this is television of some kind? I know, you are probably sitting there with your mouth wide open wondering how someone can be so dumb to get that out of these verses. But I still have to address it while trying not to laugh my ass off. Oh screw it. Its the last one...good ahead....let’s not even waste our time debating such stupidity , let’s just laugh our asses off!
