Music

Composer

I have a bachelor's degree in theory and composition from Eastern New Mexico University. Choral compositions can be heard on two recordings produced by Artist Sounds of Portland, Oregon.

Performer

I have performed both on and off stage in numerous operas and musicals. Here's a list of the titles, roles, etc.

Teacher

I held teaching positions at Oklahoma City University and at Midwest Christian College (which is, unfortunately, now closed - nothing to do with me!). I was also on the staff of Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony for three seasons.

Church

I serve as assistant organist in a small Episcopal church in a nearby farming community.

My Friends in the Music World

Meredith Mizell, soprano. Her recent appearance in Opera/Columbus's production of Verdi's Nabucco, February of 1997. Bill Russell's "Top 10 List" of reasons to see the production. Her alma mater, College of the Ozarks.

Marquita Lister, soprano. Her bio on San Francisco Opera's web site. That company's production of Aida in the 1996-97 season (and a not so nice review of the production, though it is of the other Aida, not Ms. Lister's performance). A press release about her July 1995 appearance with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Picture (about 2/3 down the page--word search doesn't work) of Ms. Lister in Houston Grand Opera's production of Porgy and Bess in the 1994-95 season. Tosca to open the season November, 1997, at Orlando Opera. Her appearances at the Opera National de Paris Bastille in Porgy and Bess in December 1996. Porgy and Bess performed at the Bregenz Festival in Austria in July and August 1997.
