THE GOLDEN CHILD

The Darkness creeping in
I've lost my vision
far and away there is a pinlight,
it is Hope, shining ever dimmer.

Strife and pain grow ever stronger
will this never end?
Magic is lost
in the land of chaos
sanity fails the strongest willed.
Fair turns to foul, pleasure to pain.

Where is the Golden Child?

Far and away
through a dark tunnel
eyes are staring
mouths are smirking.
My ears are shattered
with the sounds of shrieking.

Faith and Hope are all but gone
I cannot find that glimmering light
blindness strikes me as I fall in despair
to feel no more, pain -nor- sorrow.

But, up ahead, what is that?
It is the Golden Child, here at last.
Through pain and heartache
torture and death
he has come at last to save.

But.. Is he in time
to save a lost soul
in the dungeons of time?

I cannot see this Golden Child
Faith and Hope are no longer mine
My fears have rewritten
all of my thoughts
and all I can manage
is a scream in the dark....
