GRADE SCHOOLERS TO BE TAUGHT
HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY

The Archdiocese of Manila launches its campaign to teach grade school pupils particularly Grade Two students the merits, importance and means of praying the Holy Rosary. The entore campaign will be done in sixteen (16) weeks with every mystery of the Rosary featured every week and on the 16th week, a total of 250,000 students would have been taught how to pray the Rosary.

Cathechists and Christian Living teachers will be mobilized to help guide other moderators as well as teach to the children the Rosary and its mysteries. The noble concept in this campaign is that a coloring book depicting the Fifteen Mysteries will be given away to the children for a planned coloring contest.

This campaign is envisioned to generate a new generation of children who are able to pray the Rosary and a means of preparing them towards the Third Millennium. This campaign is also a noble preparation for all the children to recognize at their early age the meaning of Christ's passion for all mankind.

The project will be appropriately launched on December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception by the Archdiocese of Manila with this campaign's chairperson, Manila's Archbishop Jaime Cardinal L. Sin, DD.

REDISCOVER THE ROSARY
AS A SOURCE OF STRENGTH

On the 25th of October, before imparting the final blessing of the beatification liturgy, His Holiness Pope John Paul II introduced a reflection on the importance of the family Rosary at the end of the celebrations for the Month of the Holy Rosary.

"Let us now turn our gaze to Mary most holy, whom our brothers and sisters tenderly loved and faithfully imitated. Devotion to the Virgin Mother of God and the recitation of the Rosary held a special place in their lives."

"The month of October is the month of Mary, the month of the Rosary. This simple, profound prayer, dear to individuals and families, was once widely recited by the Christian people. How good it would be if the Rosary were rediscovered and appreciated today, especially in the families! It helps us reflect on the life of Christ and the mysteries of salvation; repeated invocation of the Blessed Virgin, it dispels the seeds of family disintegration; it is a sure bond of communion and peace."

"I urge everyone, especially Christian families, to find in the Holy Rosary a daily strength and support for walking the path of fidelity."

"May Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary and of all Saints, help us to pursue our mission as believers withouth wavering. Let us turn to her with filial abandonment, as did the new blessed whom we contemplate today in heavenly glory. May Our Lady especially support families, so that they can accept the Gospel with integrity and live it in their daily lives."

BOSCONIANS TEACH MAKATI YUPPIES
HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY

Innovation and initiative comes not only from the elders but nowadays from among our youth. In an unprecedented display of concern for the elders, students of the Don Bosco educational system, run by the Society of St. John Bosco launched a campaign to teach businessmen and workers of the City of Makati, the country's financial district, how to pray the Rosary.

Students from grade school to high school from the Don Bosco schools conduct regular visits to offices in Makati to encourage yuppies and the old alike to pray and have time with God through the favorite prayer of the Blessed Mother.

Most of these premiere offices and corporations opened their doors to these young evangelizers and inspirations. This effort was kicked-off in a beautiful gathering of the students at the Glorietta of the Ayala Commercial Center, also in Makati where there young boys of Don Bosco recited in unison through a Rosary rally their message of peace and love to all of those employees and business organizations.
