Luke 10:27
And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul,
and with all thy strength,
and with all thy mind;
and thy neighbour as thyself.

Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God,
to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father,
and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,
according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace,
wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will,
according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times
he might gather together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance,
being predestinated according to the purpose of him who
worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory,
who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance
until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus,
and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you,
making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened;
that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,
and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this world,
but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet,
and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down In green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths Of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley Of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me In the presence of my enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over; Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell In the house of the Lord forever.

2 Timothy 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses,
and lead captive silly women laden with sins,
led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses,
so do these also resist the truth:
men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further:
for their folly shall be manifest unto all men,
as their's also was.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I confess I have sinned against Heaven
and in your sight and need forgiveness.
Thank you for sending your son Jesus
to die on the cross for my sins, according to the Scriptures,
and I thank you for raising Him from the dead.
Today I ask Him to come into my heart to cleanse
me from my sin and become my Lord and Savior.
I give myself to you. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.

The Ten Commandments

Ten Commandments
Exodus 20:

2 I am the LORD thy God,
which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,
or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children
unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me,
and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain;
for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:
in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter,
thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle,
nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea,
and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:
wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother:
that thy days may be long upon the land
which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house,
thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife,
nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox,
nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Ten Commandments
Deuteronomy 5
6 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
7 You shall have no other gods before[1] me.
8 You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven
above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them;
for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God,
punishing the children for the sin of the fathers
to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
10 but showing love to a thousand [generations]
of those who love me and keep my commandments.
11 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God,
for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
12 Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy,
as the LORD your God has commanded you.
13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God.
On it you shall not do any work, neither you,
nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant,
nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals,
nor the alien within your gates,
so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do.
15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God
brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm.
Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
16 Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you,
so that you may live long and that it may go well with you
in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
17 You shall not murder.
18 You shall not commit adultery.
19 You shall not steal.
20 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
21 You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
You shall not set your desire on your neighbor's house or land,
his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey,
or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Jesus' Prayer on the Cross
John 17:1-26
John 17 1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.
2 For you granted him authority over all people
that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.
3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
4 I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory
I had with you before the world began.
6 I have revealed you [1] to those whom you gave me out of the world.
They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.
8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them.
They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.
9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world,
but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine.
And glory has come to me through them.
11 I will remain in the world no longer,
but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you.
Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name
--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one.
12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me.
None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction
so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world,
so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,
for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world
but that you protect them from the evil one.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
17 Sanctify [2] them by the truth; your word is truth.
18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
20 My prayer is not for them alone.
I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 I have given them the glory that you gave me,
that they may be one as we are one:
23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity
to let the world know that you sent me
and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 Father,I want those you have given me to be with me where I am,
and to see my glory, the glory you have given me
because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you,
and they know that you have sent me.
26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known
in order that the love you have for me
may be in them and that I myself may be in them.

Are you rapture ready?

Matthew 24:3-33

Olivet Discourse

And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him

privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and

what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled:

for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:

and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake.

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another,

and shall hate one another.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

But he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved.

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world

for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,

spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place,

(whosoever readeth let him understand:)

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anythingout of his house:A

Neiter let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning

of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:

but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,

and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible,

they shall deceive the very elect.

Behold I have told you before.

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert;

go not forth: behold he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west;

so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be be darkened,

and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from Heaven,

and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in Heaven:

and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,

and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of Heaven

with power and great glory.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,

and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds,

from one end of Heaven to the other.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender,

and puteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things,

know that it is near, even at the doors.

-Matthew 24:3-33.

About this time lived Jesus, a wise man, if it be proper to call him a man;
for he was a doer of wonderful works,-
a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.
He drew over to him many of the Jews and many of the Greeks. He was the Christ.
And when Pilate, at the instigation of the principal men among us,
had condemned him to the cross,
those who had loved him at first did not forsake him.
For he appeared to them alive again on the third day;
the divine prophets having foretold these
and many other wonderful things concerning him.
And the sect of Christians, so named after him, are not extinct to this day.

The Kingdom of Heaven
The kingdom of Heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son.
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding:
and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are hidden,
Behold I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies,
and destroyed those murderers, and burnedup their city. Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found,
both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had on not a wedding garment:
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness;
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
For many are called, but few are chosen.

Twenty Seventh Psalm
1 A psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation
so why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger
so why should I tremble?
2 When evil people come to destroy me, when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will know no fear. Even if they attack me,
I remain confident. 4 The one thing I ask of the LORD the thing I seek most
is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in his Temple.
5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
6 Then I will hold my head high, above my enemies who surround me.
At his Tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music. 7 Listen to my pleading, O LORD. Be merciful and answer me! 8 My heart has heard you say,
Come and talk with me. And my heart responds, LORD, I am coming.
9 Do not hide yourself from me. Do not reject your servant in anger.
You have always been my helper. Don't leave me now; don't abandon me,
O God of my salvation! 10 Even if my father and mother abandon me,
the LORD will hold me close. 11 Teach me how to live, O LORD.
Lead me along the path of honesty, for my enemies are waiting for me to fall.
12 Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things
I've never done and breathe out violence against me.
13 Yet I am confident that I will see the LORD's goodness
while I am here in the land of the living.
14 Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

2 Timothy 3:1

My Utmost for His Highest - Oswald Chambers

When the son of man shall come in his glory,
and all the holy angels with him,
then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
And before him shall be gathered all nations:
and he shall separate them one from another,
as a shepherd divide his sheep from the goats:
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand,
but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty,
and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick and ye visited me:
I was in prison and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord,
when saw we thee hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say unto them on the left hand, Depart from me,
ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was hungered, and ye gave me no meat:
I was thirsty and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not:
sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying,
Lord, when saw we thee hungered, or athirst,
or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison,
and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.

In Hebrew the names Joshua and Jehoshua, which, as we have seen, become Jesus in Greek,
mean, Jehovah is my help, or, Jehovah is rescue, or, The Help of Jehovah.
You shall give him the name Jesus, the angel said, for he will save his people
from their sins (Matt. 1:21). The very name stamps Jesus as Saviour. He is God's
divinely appointed and divinely sent Rescuer whose function is to deliver men from
their sins. He came to rescue men from the estrangement and alienation from God
which is the consequence of their past sins, and for the future to liberate them
from the bondage to sin, from the moral frustration and the continuous and
inevitable defeat which are the result of sin. He came to bring friendship for
fear and victory for defeat.

Miracles
The gift of performing miracles takes its key term, miracles, from a Greek word meaning powers (2 Corinthians 12:12). A miracle is an event beyond the power of any known physical law to produce; it is a spiritual occurrence produced by the power of God, a marvel, a wonder. In most versions of the Old Testament the word miracle is usually translated a wonder or a mighty work. Versions of the New Testament usually refer to miracles as signs (John 2:11) or signs and wonders (John 4:48; Acts 5:12; 15:12) Clearly, the wonders performed by Jesus Christ and the apostles authenticated their claim of authority and gave certitude to their message. And we must remember that people did ask Jesus and the apostles this question, How do we know that you are what you say you are, and thatyour words are true? That was not an improper question. And at strategic moments God again and again manifested Himself to men by miracles so they had outward, confirming evidence that the words they had heard from God's servants were true.

And he said unto them, Go yea into all the world, and preach he gospel
unto every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned . And these signs shall follow
those who believe: In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall
speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink

and they shall recover.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without Him
was not anything made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness overcame it not.

The Ten Bridesmaids
The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the BrideGroom. Butonly five of them were wise enough to fill their lamps with oil, while the other five were foolish and forgot. So when the BrideGroom was delayed, they lay down to rest until midnight, when they were raised by a shout, The BrideGroom is coming. Come out and welcome Him. All the girls jumped up and trimmed their lamps. Then the five who hadn't any oil begged the others to share with them, for their lamps were going out. But the others replied, We haven't enough. Go instead to the shops and buy some for yourselves. But while they were gone the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five returned, they stood outside, calling, Sir, open the door for us. But he called back, Go away it is too late. So stay awake and be prepared, for you do not know the date or the hour of my return.

And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. He who testifieth these things saith, Surely, I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. Does not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, rejoiceth not in inequity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father. And whatever ye shall ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye ask anything in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him; but ye know him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. The Spirit of Love That Makes Everything Easy

Jesus Christ said to all Christians without exception, Let him who would be my disciple carry his cross, and follow me. The broad way leads to perdition. We must follow the narrow way which few enter. We must be born again, renounce ourselves, hate ourselves, become a child, be poor in spirit, weep to be comforted, and not be of the world, and not be of the world which is cursed because of its scandals.

These truths frighten many people, and this is because they only know what religion exacts without knowing what it offers, and they ignore the spirit of love that makes everything easy. They do not know that it leads to the highest perfection by a feeling of peace and love which sweetens all the struggle.

Those who are wholly God's are always happy. They know by experiience that the yoke of the Lord is easy and light, that we find in him rest for the soul, and that he comforts those who are weary and overburdened as he himself has said.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE LORD

Assurance

The Great Commission
It is hard to imagine what must have been passing through the minds of that little band of eleven disciples as they clustered around the risen Lord Jesus Christ somewhere on a mountain in Galilee. They recently had gone through the misery of apparent defeat, watching helplessly as Jesus was nailed to a cross. Their dreams of a world kingdom B under Christ's rule were shattered. Then came the reports from the women who had visited the tomb early on that first Easter morning- reports that he was alive! At first they doubted; but as time went on, they knew the reports to be true, for Jesus Himself appeared to them many times. Finally, He comes to them and issues the greatest challenge they- or we- could ever hear: All power is given to me in Heaven and in Earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

The Lord's Prayer

After this manner, therefore, pray ye:

Our Father, who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done on earth,

as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

Daniel's Prophecy

Dear Heavenly Father,
I believe you sent your Son Jesus
to die on the cross for my sins and the sins of the world.
I also believe you raised Him from the dead
and that He is coming again to set up His kingdom.
Therefore, today I confess my sin of rebellion to you
and invite Jesus into my heart to become my Lord and Savior.
The best I know how, I give myself to him
and declare that I would like to serve Him as long as I live.
Amen.
