CIBECUE MASSACRE SITE 3

The Cibecue Massacre took place at this location on 30 August 1881. The Apache medicine man Noch-ay-del-klinne was one of the principal people killed. The site is about 50 miles north of Globe in very rugged territory, on the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation. This is a view of the bluff where several of the Apache sharpshooters were located. The village of Cibecue still exists.
