Enjoying Some "Alone" Time

April 4, 2006

It's 9:30 on a Tuesday night. My son is in bed (though I don't think he's asleep yet), and my husband is still at school, so I have a little time to myself. Right now I'm sitting at the dining room table enjoying some things I ordered from Tiyaki Grill: two types of sushi, roast pork with broccoli, and chicken with cashews. I don't usually order dinner in the middle of the week, but I got home late tonight and didn't feel like cooking. I expect most of my dinner will end up as my lunch on Thursday and Friday, so financially it evens out since I usually buy lunch.

After dinner, I think I may watch a little TV. Normally the TV is tuned to one of my son's programs -- Miffy, Maisy, Clifford, Barney, Sesame Street, Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer, or Jack's Big Music Show. When my son goes to bed, then my husband usually watches a sports game or something on the history channel. Now that it is my turn for the TV, I can watch something funny, like Whose Line Is It Anyway, Dharma and Greg, or Daria. On the other hand, I can also take the time to read a book....     PEGGY HU'S READING LOG

It's nice to have some time to myself. I enjoy my family, but I also like being alone sometimes too.
