A Missing Book

April 5, 2006

I seem to have misplaced a library book. This is very annoying. I've looked everywhere I can think of -- on the dining room table, in the living room, on top of the piano, in my bedroom, and at my workplace. I've checked the bookshelves in the guest room, in the office, in my son's room, and in the basement. I've looked under beds, in the piano bench, and in the kitchen junk drawer, but I haven't found it yet. I can't think where it could possibly be. The last time I remember seeing it, the book was with a pile of other library books on the dining room table. Since that time, I have cleaned the table a number of times, but the book hasn't reappeared. I don't know why that particular book should be missing except that it is a paperback and therefore relatively light. I suspect my son may have wandered off with it, but if so I don't know where he could have put it. I've renewed the book to buy myself a few more weeks to find it, but I suspect I'm going to have to pay the library fine and buy a replacement copy. How annoying.
