Pro-File:

Wade Wilson first appeared in Comicland as one incredibly irritating villain who couldn't seem to shut the hell up, a blabbbering thorn in Cable's side. In that hallowed issue of New Mutants, Deadpool almost wiped Cable out if not for the intervention of Copycat ( disguised as the lucky Domino... who appeared to whack him up in a jiffy and packed him to Timbuktu or somethin' ) He kept popping up in X-Force since the readers couldnīt hate such a funny guy ( hey, they couldn't have liked his looks, could they? ). Wadeīs most powerful weapon is his motor-mouth ( maybe another disgustin mutant power?!?! ), that shakes everyone's concentration.

But as time went by and his limited series were released ( the both of them ) we slowly began to delve deeper into the twisted psyche of this crazy lunatic ( and found out that he was even more screwed up than we thought ). It began to seem that underneath all that macho talk ( definitely using humour as a defence mechanism ), Wade here had a good heart, like when he reluctantly used his healing powers on Copycat, his former love, to save her. But then of course, the man's a merc, his scruples wouldnīt be high and mighty ( c'mon, he's a man, he ain't a saint! ), but his heroic tendencies could not be rejected.

As the Deadpool limited series revealed more about him, we discovered that Wade Wilson, like Wolverine, suffered in the hands of the Weapon X Program and the Department K. Supposedly, Wade was a secret agent ( did you expect a High School teacher? ) who had terminal cancer, and accepted the treatment ( almost as a last resort ) that this department was offering. He was quite the stud then, it could be said, with blond hair, buff bod and all. He then acquired his healing power, in the form of a serum taken off of Loganīs body. But in the process, his body gained a horrible appearance ( kinda like the Phantom of the Opera look ) and so did his face. Disgusted at his lousy nose job, Wade summarily tendered his resignation and left the Canadian secret service, becoming a merc.

During his violent tete-a-tetes with X-Force, Wade began to love the screaming red-headed banshee Theresa Rourke, a.k.a. Siryn ( even thoroughly degrading himself by hanging out by her bedroom window to watch her sleep.. ). We also know that Wade has two friends: Weasel, his weapon and technology supplier and Blind Alfred, his prisoner-cum-domestic helper-cum-mother figure(?!?). He has a real good case of hate/love relationship with this two, but he does care for them. Weasel sometimes helps out in certain situations and Blind Alfred has been known to dispense advice whether Deadpool wants it or not. For his leisure time, Wade gets his kicks at the Hell House where half the mercs there have it in for him.

In the first issue of his monthly, Deadpool was hired by Luckman, Landau and Lake to assasinate a certain Canadian folklore legend.. Somehow, the man mixed that up with the Sasquatch. During the tussle, a certain volatile radioactive thingamabob was triggered, threatening the world as we know it. Wade figure since his face was already peeling anyway, volunteered to do some sacrificial virgin act and leapt inside the reactor... Managing to save it, Deadpool then went to clear things up with L,L&L. It turned out that they had wanted to test him.. wanting to hire him as some kinda hero type ( hah! ). We could all guess what Wade would say to that.

Recently, after discovering that his healing factor was going down and that death was approaching, Wade accepted to return to the place that transformed in Deadpool, so a cure could be found. Who convinced him? Siryn, of course...

Agreeing to venture into some icy wasteland to meet Dr. Killjoy, it is found out that he needs the blood of a certain green-skinned, Gamma-powered hulk. Magnanimously, Wade immediately volunteers to purchase a coffin for himself but Siryn manages to persuade him. Surprisingly enough, the Hulk is not in terribly good form and is soon coerced into giving a little to Wade's charitable blood donation drive.

After getting some green gunk-platelets pumped into him, Deadpool appears to be much better. There is a short, tender moment between the flame-tressed screamer and our man Deadpool himself but they resolve to remain only as friends.

Overcome by a feeling of goodness after the brief jaunt with Siryn, Deadpool agrees to an assignment that involves the release or murder of a certain mental patient ( sort of a bodacious bust a broad from the boobie hatch ). With the help of Weasel, he immediately decides to do both. Little does he know that the patient is the schitzophrenic Typhoid Mary. And the fact that one of her personalities has also hired THE VAMP ( a gorgeous babe who later turns into a disgusting, big, bald-headed Kojak reject ) to kill Wade doesn't exactly make his job go smoothly.

But Deadpool manages to break Typhoid Mary out of the asylum. But that's not the end of the problem ( if it was, the comic would end ). Typhoid Mary remembers her past and goes all out to take her revenge on the people who have hurt her, the people who have talked to her, the people who cross the street ( well, seems like she was out for everyone's blood ).

When you have a Typhoid Mary out on a rampage... how far behind can the Daredevil be. But it isn't all that easy to stop a madwoman on the rampage ( trust me on this one.. *grin* ) To cut things short ( or just to cut things up like Mary ), Deadpool is forced to look into himself.. and what he finds inside himself is not what he wanted to see.

Due to the aforementioned events, Deadpool becomes even more bitter ( like he's ever be sweet? ). Disillusioned, he goes on a mini rampage of his own.
