Update on the 1999 Philippine Webby
Awards
(Sept. 24, 1999) - Nominations for the 1999 Philippine
Webby Awards have just closed last September 24
and MCCID Online Web Site is included as a nominee
in the Culture and Education categories.
This year's Culture category includes 50 nominees
of which only ten entries shall be chosen as
finalists. As usual, only MCCID Online is dedicated
solely for the Deaf and Deaf Culture. For your information,
not one of the web sites is dedicated for the disabled in
the
Philippines.

Also, this year's Education and Children category includes
39 nominees of which also only ten entries shall be chosen
as finalists. A few of the nominees include the web site

DLSU St. Benilde

DLSU Lipa
University of San Carlos

While these sites will be judged within the next 1 1/2 months,
there is also the People's Choice Awards in which the
top 5 sites which receives the most number of votes by
people who register and vote in the Webby Awards Site,
shall receive awards.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE
Rules in Voting for the People's Choice Awards
1.The top ten (10) sites regardless of category
garnering the most of number of votes shall
win the People's Choice Awards after the
voting period.
2.All nominees are automatically put on the list
for voters of the People's Choice Awards to
vote for.
3.The People's Choice Voting period shall be
from 26 September 1999 to 15 November
1999.
4.Each registered voter is entitled to five (5)
votes. ( To register, you must supply your
name and e-mail plus a username. You
should receive e-mail minutes after giving
you your password. You need your username
and password to vote. )
5.You can go back anytime until the deadline
to add and/or change votes.
